Lucian's POV

My mindset was occupied with Brittany. As stupid as this may sound, I still had lingering feelings. The events replayed inside my mind like a short film, truly torturous as every time it did so, my heart seemed to shatter. Needless to say, Paige was certainly beautiful however, this didn't mean that I wanted her. By anything there's a whole bunch of other woman out there that may be just like her but.. Britt was irreplaceable.

"Hello.." Paige greeted me resulting in my thoughts to cut off. I examined her once more in attempt to distract myself from my ex.

"Hello Paige, you're looking stunning," A smirked tugged against my lip whilst giving an honest compliment.

"Thanks, you are too. How are you?"

"Fine," My smirk dropped. "You?" I locked eyes with her briefly.

"I'm doing alright. If I may ask, why did you accept the proposal?"

This was the one question I was avoiding but she just had to ask. Quite a nosy maiden isn't she?

"Simply the spur of the moment, even though I had no clue who I was to be betrothed to," I folded my arms and unconsciously furrowed my brows. I was unaware of the angered expression I displayed. Her lips parted in attempt to speak but was interrupted by mother.

"Let's help Paige get her stuff into your apartment shall we?" A gleeful smile was displayed on mothers lips as she clapped her hands. "My husband will be driving the pick up truck meaning Paige will go in Lucian's car," She further explained. Well great, my car is going to be an awkward shit-hole.

Without word, we all did what needed to be done, the two older woman remained at the main house to chatter.

Inside the car driving to Paige's house.

"What's your reason to accept the proposal?" I finally found the timing to ask her.

"I couldn't say no to mom and besides, I don't have much luck with men," She responded, resting her chin on her palm whilst staring out the window. Bullshit, you could have all the luck you wanted, she's beautiful. But I wouldn't dare speak what was on my mind since, people have their reasons and situations.

"Ah I see," Pausing briefly we came across a stoplight, "Listen I'm gonna be very forward here, we're gonna have to be open with each other. After all, we're gonna live in the same apartment and etc, are you willing to cooperate with me?" I stuck my hand out for a shake whilst flashing a wide grin to Paige.

"I am," A petite smile was displayed whilst she took my hand and shook it slowly. God damn her hands were soft, softer than Brits. I returned my gaze to the road, my grin fading as memories of Brit entered. Is it that hard to forget? "Since we're gonna be open.. Tell me about yourself. Even the little pieces like favourite colours," She giggled which exposed her pearl white teeth.

"Well, my full name is Luciano Matthew Donovan. My favourite colour is black and red, Oo~ Dark and gloomy I know," I spoke the last bit in a stupid sounding tone that wavered like a boy in puberty. I laughed at my queer yet really awkward response and so did she, which was satisfying I have to admit. "Enough about me, your turn," A content smirk seemed to crawl it's way up to my lips. I was beginning to take Brit off my mind.
