* Rachel's POV *

I began arguing with my parents about going to see Matt since he was nearly done with his sentence. Of course they would say no because of what he did and they had yet to forgive him. Knowing my parents they probably never would.

"Matt is my best friend. I need to see him at least once. He is going to think I forgot about him or something! I am 22. I can make my own decisions."

"As long as you live under this roof, you need to ask us to go anywhere or see anyone!" My dad was really aggravated that I was not out of the house and married yet. As if I could control my current boyfriend's decision in asking me to be his wife.

"Then consider me gone as of today!" I saw the hurt look on his face when I said that and ran to my room.

I began to furiously pack. Clothes and belonging were flying all over the place and hitting the walls. My mom opened the door slightly and just one look at her she closed it and went down the hall. I know she was hurt as well, but she understood. I know she did because she always does.

I did not say goodbye to my father. I just took my bags and left. I went to the only place I could think of after that even though it went against what I believed in. I went to my boyfriend's apartment.

Dan and I met in high school. He was everything I could have asked for. He was taller than me, but not so much that he towered over me. He was the perfect height for me. He had blonde hair, feeling like silk and smelling like the ocean. He had a strong jawbone that made both his laugh and smile my favorite thing to see. He was fit and athletic since he was a soccer player for his college that was not too far from mine. He was perfect for me.

"Rachel, what's wrong?" This is how he greeted me at the front door. He knew my heart and so he knew instantly what I was feeling just from being in my presence.

As a began telling the story, he was eying my suitcase. He knew where the story was leading and after I was done telling the story, he said he had a friend that I could stay with. Her apartment was just down the hall. Like I said, he knew me. He knew that our beliefs wouldn't let us live together unless we were married.

I found it quite romantic. He kissed my head gently and with compassion. Dan then picked up my bags and walked down towards the end of the hall to his friend's apartment. I have yet to meet her and learn her name, but I did not really have anywhere else to go now besides here.

"Hi, I'm Rachel." I said as I stuck out my hand. She happily greeted me and told me her name is Grace. I liked that name. In many ways she resembled Dan. She was gorgeous.

She was not the typed of gorgeous you envy when passing someone on the sidewalk. She was a natural spirit. She had no makeup on and was completely relaxed around everyone. She had nothing to hide. Walking through her apartment, she had many family photos and personal art pieces on display in which I admired greatly.

"I was actually looking for a roommate, so this is perfect! I can't wait to know you better Rachel." She said that with a smile on her face. It was one of those smiles that light up a whole room. It was beautiful yet intimidating.

I began unpacking and I received an unexpected call. I hesitated in answering since it had been so long since I heard from him. Matt.
