Pessimistic Art

People buy negativity in the name of artistry.

We gladly take pessimism home,

not all packed up in the visage of art's brilliance,

but in the knitted disguise of art itself
in its most sturdy form.

Because art is a solid cocoon for  negativity to bloom

and swiftly morph into the engine that hums

all its consumer wants to take in,

while fueling an aesthete's life force,

it becomes savory to the eyes of those who revel in the craft

of speaking to it.

Art gets its astral shape to submit

to the custom of being stripped down

and viewed with abrupt keenness

through the glasses of notion

as alone and particular as their wearers.

Instead of solving life's problems by holding on

to the compelling, capricious wheels
of the money cycle,

some of us are content with art being the leisurely loop

that drags the enjoyable and the
heinous

along with the one who possesses it.

So, people are coming together

and buying symbolism, maybe because they're tired of

art being given away for free

in the name of negativity.
