Laurence came back hours later with many dead animals that needed to be skinned so the could use the fur and have food. Antonio stared for a moment before grabbing a knife and helping skin the animals.

A while later the animals were done being skinned and some were being cooked for dinner. The other raw meat was wrapped tightly in leaves and hung in the trees with the berries which were moved further away from the shelter.

The boys sat silently for a while waiting for the rabbit they chose to cook to be done. The silence was interrupted by Antonio.

"Laurence..."

"Hm?"

"Do you think anyone's looking for us... I mean... Someone has to be... right?" Antonio said while staring into the fire.

"If they aren't I'm going to be pissed," Laurence said harshly.

Antonio nodded as Laurence grabbed the rabbit and cut open the stomach. He handed a rabbit to Antonio seeing as it was cooked thoroughly. Antonio muttered his thanks as he took it and ate in silence.

Once Antonio was finished he tossed the remainder of the rabbit deep into the surrounding vegetation. He went into the shelter and laid down not saying a word to Laurence.

Laurence finished eating alone and tossed the remainder of his food into the forest as well. He put the fire out and climbed into the shelter covering the entrance with sticks once again. He laid down next to Antonio who slept quietly.

Laurence gave a small smile before drifting off into a dreamless sleep.

The boys awoke to hear something frightening to them. They heard growling outside. They peered out of the gaps in the sticks but did not see the source of the growls.

The animal causing the growls stayed for a while before they heard the growls grow distant. The boys looked at each other and decided to stay put, for the time being, waiting to see if it would return.

The day went on as they stayed put. The growling never returned so they slowly slipped out of the shelter. Laurence immediately went and grabbed some vines tying the logs together so that the "door" was more stable.

Antonio went and started a fire while Laurence completed the "door". Once the door was complete the boys made nets from the seemingly endless amounts of vines. They set traps up around the site to avoid potential trouble.

"We should probably just eat berries today, to be on the safe side," Laurence said.

Antonio nodded as he got the berries down from the tree. He unraveled the shirt and set it down near the fire. The boys ate the berries quietly watching as the day turned into night.

When the day finally ended and the food was put back into the tree and the fire put out the boys climbed back into their shelter which had been once again improved with the "door".

The boys laid awake as the night continued on. Neither could fall asleep. They waited and waited and waited for sleep to come, but it never did.

The night turned to day and the boys got up, both with bags under their eyes from not sleeping.

Both or the boys crawled out and checked the traps, none of the traps had been set off overnight. They slowly continued with the day. They searched for something that could be used as a bowl.

The sound of thunder shook the earth as the rain began to fall. The boys climbed into the dry shelter waiting for the rain to let up so the may use the mud to seal gaps between the logs that the shelter is made of.

Soon the rain let up and the boys hurried outside the work on their house once again.
