Chapter 27

"Uh Gabby, I think Blake wants you." Brandon said cautiously pointing behind me. We were at lunch the first day back from winter break. I turned around to look at Blake and Wyatt standing by the door gesturing for me to go near him. I turned back to Brandon. 

"I'll be right back." I said getting up from my seat. I walked to where Blake and Wyatt were standing. 

"GABRIELLE REYNOLDS REPORT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE" The principal said through the loudspeaker. Everyone looked at me and said 'ooh' I rolled my eyes. I continued walking to the principal's office with Blake and Wyatt. 

"Do you know why I have to go?" I questioned them. We walked past the front entrance and I saw two police cars outside. 

"Well..." Blake trailed off. We walked into the principal's office and I was greeted with the principal and two police officers. 

"Hello, I'm Officer Pikes and this is Officer Brooks." The male officer said and then motioning to the female officer. 

"Hello, you probably already know my name but I'm Gabrielle Reynolds. May I ask why I am here?" I asked looking at the three people standing in front of me.  

"Well, we have some bad news." Officer Brooks said. I started to worry. 

"What is it?" I asked in a rush. 

"You remember your cousin Rebecca?" My principal asked. I shook my head slowly. 

"She passed away three days ago, we just got the message today." Officer Pikes responded. I started to feel the tears coming on. 

"This isn't true." I said shaking my head forcefully back and forth. Rebecca was supposed to get married in two weeks to her fiance Victor, we promised to be each others maids of honor. I started to let the tears fall. Blake pulled me into a hug which I gladly hugged back. 

"I'm so sorry for your loss. We have informed your mother, we all thought it would be good if you went home and took the rest of the day off. Blake is going to take you home." Officer Brooks stated. I calmed my crying down a little and just nodded my head. "She left you a note that was sent here from London." She handed me an envelope. I calmly opened up the envelope to reveal a small piece of paper. The note read as follows. 

Dear GabGab, 

I hope you are able to read this asap. To begin I was almost raped a few months back. I was walking home one night and two men pulled me into a car and started taking my clothes off. I used self defense and I was able to get away from them. I ran home and they didn't follow me. Today I was walking back to my apartment  and the guys followed me home. I'm scared Gabby, I really am. If I don't make it out alive, please take care of Victor for me. I love you so much, never forget me.

I started tearing up again looking at the note. They killed her. I cringed at the thought, she was so innocent. I looked back at my principal and the officers. 

"Thank you for letting me know." I said with a raspy voice. The officers nodded and walked out. 

"I am going to get my stuff, I'll be right back." I whispered into Blake's ear. I hugged him and Wyatt again and began walking to my locker. I walked down the halls receiving rude looks from people. 

"Are you okay?" I looked up when I reached my locker. 

"Oh hey Brandon." I said quietly. 

"Please answer me." He pleaded.
