It's dark, it's lonely.

I'm so far away,

From the things that I love

That society took away

In the closet I go,

Without any say 

And only because

I am gay

They say it's a sin

An abomination

Leaving me subject

To discrimination 

Never accepting

No matter how I plead

Homophobic attacks rise

Homosexuals bleed

Then along came the light

'God loves all', it said

I got scared of the consequences 

So I shook my head

It pulled me out

That strange light from above

Because one thing conquers

And that is love
