about twenty years ago, a strikingly tall frenchman set foot on english soil for the first time. he was set to spend his gap year traveling around the uk and ireland, pursuing any adventure to be found before hitting the books hard for six years. enter a blonde haired, blue eyed, fiercely opinionated british woman who held an affinity for all things american pop culture. fast forward two months, and that same british woman is carrying the very same frenchman's baby following a whirlwind affair, a love story for the ages, really. fast forward another two months and they've eloped, both much too young in the eyes of just about everyone who knew them.

that french man and that british woman welcomed a blonde haired, blue eyed baby named sloane allison bernard-morris on the following april fool's day. sloane was named after the british woman's favorite movie, ferris bueller's day off. sadly, the two's marriage was doomed from the start, and, not long after the girl's second birthday, they got a divorce. sloane was never too affected by it, but it did grant her loads of things. two homes in two countries, dual citizenship, the fluency in two languages, and a funny accent to boot.

despite all of this, sloane had a normal, rather unremarkable childhood. her mother, who later went on to be a semi-successful author, taught her how to stick up for herself and how to be a bad ass feminist. her father, who went on to be a semi-successful businessman, taught her to always do what was right and how to maintain a decent credit score.

fast forward once more, this time to the present. sloane's doing okay. she goes to university on a partial scholarship, the rest being paid by her father. she majored in film, with dreams of someday being the next kathryn bigelow. for now, she settles picking up jobs as being a p.a. and such on independent films and making her own from time to time with her shitty camera and the snobbish theater majors who go to her school.

she lives in a big, old house that was renovated to be an apartment building about a decade ago. she sometimes shares the diminutive apartment with arrow, a stray cat who she has a tendency to feed. she's bisexual, something she realized in her early teen years when she realized her list of "girl crushes" went on for ages. while she of course longs for the gentleness and intimacy of a relationship (who doesn't?), the thought of commitment makes a shiver run down her spine. for the time being, she's looking for friends more than anything, people to laugh with and people to love.
