Everything Is Going To Be Alright

Chapter 4| Awake

This is going to be more of a relaxing chapter, but the next couple of chapters is gonna be a roller coaster ride in hell :)

-The next day-

It was 7 p.m and Katy was still not awake. Cory, Topanga, and the boys had went home around 10:00 at night. They agreed to let Riley stay with Shawn and Maya.

Maya was sitting in the same chair, asleep with her head resting on the bed. Riley was on the couch on her phone. Shawn was standing at the foot of the bed, waiting for any sign of consciousness. Riley looked up at her uncle.

Uncle Shawn why don't sit down for a bit you've been standing there for like an hour.
Riley suggested.

Shawn glanced at her and then looked back at his wife.
No thank you. I'm fine here.

Riley stared at him trying to see what he was thinking.
You'll still be there when she wakes up you know.

I know it's just I want to make sure that-
he pauses

Make sure that what?
Riley questioned.

I don't know.
He sighed and gave in. He sat down next to Riley.
I just- I'm so confused.

Well that's normal. Maya's confused too.
Riley remembered what Maya said when they were sitting a their makeshift bay window.
Did Maya tell you yet?

Tell me what?

She thinks Katy was running away.
Riley tells him.

Shawn thought about it.
'She has a point. She was three hours away.'
He looks at the two girls in the middle of the room.
Why would she think that?
Shawn asked.

She went into her dresser because she had a shirt she wanted to wear.
Shawn looked at her.
Half of the clothes were missing.

Why didn't she tell me?

She thought that maybe she was just going to wash them, but I mean we are in Rochester.

Shawn thought back to this morning.
'It did look like she was holding a bag, and she left early for work.'

Why would she run away? Nothing was wrong.
Shawn thought out loud. Riley was about to answer, but Maya began to stir.

Maya lifted her head and looked up at the clock, 7:15. She looked at her mother.
She's still not awake.
she said heavyhearted. She felt her stomach growl. She stood up, and looked at Shawn.
Can me and Riley go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat?

Yea sure. Do you need money?
asked Shawn.

No it's okay I have some.
Riley stood up and walked to the door. Maya grabbed her bag and began to walk out of the room. She saw Shawn staring at Katy, she went to hug him.

She'll wake up soon.
he smiled and she smiled back. She backed away and walked out of the room.

Shawn watched the door close before turning around and sitting down on the chair Maya was on earlier. He took Katy's hand and brushed a couple of stray hairs out of her face.
I'm still not sure if you can hear me, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
he clears his throat.
I just wanted to let you know that Maya and I hope you wake up soon. Um... that's it I guess. I don't really know what to say.
Shawn thought about what else to say.
Well there's this. When you wake up, Maya and I are here for you. We'll probably never leave your side.
he chuckled and looked down.
Just know that I love you.
He felt a something squeeze his hand. Shawn looked up and saw the woman laying front of him with her eyes slightly open.
