6 hours later
32 year old Melvin feels a hard tap on his temple and he slowly open his light brown eyes but shut them almost immediately when his eyes make contact with a bright light bulb that hangs above his head he lower his head to the ground before opening his eyes again.
"Why did you kill our mother?"
Melvin hears a deep voice that's filled with venom say, Melvin looks around nervously trying to figure out which way the sound came from but couldn't see more than a few inches ahead and beside him since the only source of light was above him.
Melvin tries to move but his hands and feet are tied down to the silver chair
"I'm not going to ask you again"
Melvin hears the voice say and he hears footsteps getting closer and within a few seconds they stop.
Melvin could feel his heart pounding against his chest as he frantically move his eyes around.
Melvin didn't need to ask who the mystery man was talking about because he only killed one person.
"I don't know if you'll think that it's a good reason but I was 19 at the time" Melvin starts when he feel a knife on the side of his throat.
"And to be so young I had it rough my dad died from the same illness my mom was dealing with at the time" Melvin stops when he feels the knife press more into his neck.
"The fucked up part is my dad never said nothing about being sick so when he died no one was prepared, you couldn't tell if something was wrong with him because he didn't show any signs, but my mom told me when she got sick the problem was we couldn't afford the treatment" Melvin continues letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding in when the knife is removed from his throat.
"I thought about selling drugs but I knew if that went south I could end up in jail, and the possibility of my mom fighting her illness would be slim. So I started working at a lil corner store but it wasn't bring in enough money, so I got another job and yet still that wasn't enough" Melvin says as his eyes start to water as he remember those days.
"I prayed about it daily and weeks passed I finally told my boss what was going on and he told me about this dude named Harold Cross that gives out money if you do whatever deal he has that day, and before I knew it I made a deal that I regretted afterwards, my original plan wasn't to kill your mom..." Melvin trails off looking down.
Paris eyes start to water, as a million questions begin to fill her head but her top to questions was why would Harold want Gloria killed?
A part of Pryde and Parissa wanted to believe this nigga but something was missing.
"But when I realized Harold had his men watching my every move I had to it was either your mom or mine-" Melvin explains pulling both Pryde and Parissa out of their thoughts.
"Do you know where he lives now?" Paris ask cutting Melvin off.
"Im not sure if he still in the same place he lived when I went to him at 19" Melvin answers back quickly hoping that since he's cooperating they wouldn't kill him.
"Did your mom fight her illness?"
Melvin hears a female voice ask so he looks in the direction the voice came from.
"No she died the night I was taking her to get her first treatment session" Melvin replies
"You know what I almost wanna spare yo life..... But then I think about my mom and ask myself did you spare hers?" Parissa and Pryde says at the same time as they step into the light for Melvin to see them.
