This Is Me
"A pink satin dress,
Your look will impress!
Do as I say,
And guys will swoon starting today!
Sit up straight,
You better do that on your date!"
They ramble on and on,
Wishing my personality was gone,
Hoping I don't end up insane.
So they cause me pain.
Telling me to be fake,
Which is something I can't take.
I hate to be perfection
Like a deathly infection.
I'd rather have that,
And to be a rat,
Than to be loved because I'm fake,
No more lies I'll make.
I want people to meet me,
The girl who hates glitter to see.
Who can't eat certain foods,
Or it'll affect my mood.
My combat boots are my only shoe,
And who'd love to meet the real you.
No one understands,
I like the fishnets that cover my hands.
Punk rock and country is what I sing,
As fate on my door goes ding dong ding.
I am proud of who I play in life's game,
So why are you so ashamed?
People need to see who I am inside,
Someone who hates to hide.
I am the one who loves to paint the sky,
Hoping one day away I'll fly.
Away from the people who pretending,
Where my heart wont be defending.
But for now, this is me,
And I hope you'll soon see
That I love to rap,
And wont take your crap.
From now on, no more telling me lies,
Because that will soon die.
