Dean literally dragged me back kicking and screaming. He made it to his room quickly and slammed the door shut behind him, locking it swiftly before walking over and tossing me onto his bed. I scrambled to sit up quickly and locked eyes with him, my pulse being the only thing I heard echoing in my ears. Dean squatted down in front of the bed, his body now at level with mine so I didn't have to look up anymore. "Jade... A whole week. You were gone for a whole fucking week. Where were you?" He asked, his jaw clenching in frustration as his hands balled into fists. My wolf whimpered, wanting me to submit to him.
"Just out..." I answered shortly, ignoring my wolf's whines and trying to watch my words so that I didn't slip up. I wanted to break our stare, but I didn't want to seem weak. His eyes hardened at my answer, and his expression changed so that he knelt, glaring at me. He stood up swiftly, yanking me up on the bed so that I was flush against his body as his hands roughly held onto my arms. "Does it look like I'm in the mood for that kind of answer, Slave?" He growled out to me, his eyes beginning to glow and his canines growing in length. I reached my hands up and gripped his shirt as my stare on him hardened. "I can never tell what you're in the mood for. One minute you're touching on me and the next you're holding me down so that your whore of a girlfriend gets to punch me!"
I was fuming, and my wolf seemed to pause at the mention of this. Dean's hold on my arms loosened just a little bit as his anger died down by just the slightest amount. His eyes flickered across my face and then, out of nowhere, he shoved me back onto the bed. A knock on the door broke the silence in the room, and Dean stayed in his dominant position at the end of the bed as he told the person to come in. Now, it was a guard that walked in, but from the way he froze as soon as he saw the scene in front of him, you could tell it didn't look good. "What do you want?" Dean growled out, not even turning to look at the guard as he spoke.
"The warriors couldn't track her scent to wherever she came from, they believe a witch is involved." The guard spoke, his voice a tough comparison to Dean's. Dean rose an eyebrow at this information as he stared at me, his tongue briefly flicking out to wet his lips. "You are dismissed." Dean stated, his voice a little quieter as he rose one hand and flicked it lightly. The guard bowed his head and left, closing the door tightly behind himself. I moved to the side of the bed and slowly slid off of it, then made my way around the bed quietly.
"Jade," Dean said as his hand swiftly caught my arm, stopping me in my tracks as he pulled me towards him. "What do you think you're doing?" He asked, his other hand slowly moving so that it was pressed at the small of my back. I glared at him, hating the fact that my spine was shot with tingles. His actions confused me. He seemed so angry, but he's holding me right now as if he missed me. I opened the mind link between us and felt his emotions swarm my mind, and I was absolutely overwhelmed. Anger, relief, longing, and... Regret? I opened my mouth to ask him why, why would he regret anything? What was he longing for? Why was he relieved?
But he cut me off. "Jade, don't ask questions about how I feel right now. And stop snooping around." He gritted out, and his grip on my arm tightened once again. Pain shot through that arm as I glared at him and rose my other hand to his chest, attempting to push away from him. "Dean... Let. Me. Go. I don't want you to touch me! You're supposed to be my mate, but the minute I open the mind link between us you scold me for 'snooping'?!" I growled out, my eyes literally glowing with anger as I set my glare on him. The hand he had pressed on my back pressed against me a little harder, and he moved me up against his body as the room grew thick with tension.
He sighed as his body slowly relaxed, meanwhile, mine was tensing up. He closed his eyes and unclenched his jaw slowly, his grip on my arm loosening as the anger slipped out of him. My body completely froze against him, and I felt like I was preparing for an oncoming storm. "The Moon Goddess doesn't make mistakes." He stated quietly, his eyes opening once again as he stared at me, and they searched my face leisurely before a smirk painted his lips. "And, obviously, the Moon Goddess wants you to suffer." He suddenly turned with me trapped in his embrace, and he shoved me backwards. I stumbled slightly but didn't fall, and I peered up at him in shock.
