"WAIT, so you're telling me that you are self taught?" He asked. I nodded proudly and put the bass back on its stand. "Bad ass! I'm Duff, by the way." He introduced himself. "I know who you are, Mckagan. I'm Grace." I said. "How'd you learn?" I asked. "Oh, my brother taught me a little." He shrugged.

"Awesome dude." I said, seeing the conversation die down. "Do you two need any help?" An employee asked us. "Um, yeah, I'm looking for bass strings, whatcha got?" Duff asked. "Right this way." The employee smiled. I followed them to a small rack that had guitar strings and bass strings, as well as a variety of picks and glass slides.

I wandered to the acoustic guitars behind the rack Duff was at and picked up a blue fender. i immediately began playing Patience, which was a Guns n Roses song. I just wanted to see if Duff would recognize it.

Slash's solo in the intro of the song neared and i hesitantly played it. I never nailed it, but this time i did. No mistakes, not even an accidental twang of the string.

"Shed a tear 'cuz I'm missing you," Duff sang. I jumped and muted the strings. "Awe why'd you stop?" Duff whispered in my ear. i giggled, "You scared me Duff!" i accused. "Oh i'm sorry! Now play that song girl!" he sarcastically demanded.

I picked up at verse again and he sang every word with his beautiful smooth voice. The few customers and employees in the room clapped when we finished. I beamed up at Duff, who was grinning all the same. "What do you say I buy you that guitar and we go out for lunch?" Duff asked. "Awe, I'd like that a lot Duff. Thank you." I said, and i meant every word.

He bowed and smirked up at me, "Pleasure's all mine."
