Tiki pov
"Lady Tikiania your stepmother requested your presence." My maid said behind me as I lay down on the grass of my private garden and play with a ladybug my fingers.

"Thank you Ming."I responded before she heads her way to do her chores.

I looked a bright bug crawl up to my finger before it flew off. I watched it fly over the wall. My eyes are locked on the wall. The wall that I see every day, there nothing special about it. Just the fact I have never been to the other side in my life. Will I did but that was ages ago before my father got remarried.

I left my mothers garden and go meet my stepmother.

Third pov
She sighs in disappointment and goes to meet her stepmother. She enters one of the room and found that both of her parents were present. She looks at them in confusion. She sat in front of them.

"Uh hum!" Her stepmother growled.

"Oh." Tikiania bit her lip and bowed at them, "You have requested my presence."

"Yes," her father quickly answer his face was blank but his eyes showed an unsure emotion but Tikiania has seen that face before. Before her mom died.

"Tikiania the matchmaker sent us the result and you are prompt to wed to Yamato." Tikiania was familiar to the name he was an old family friend but not a good friend, "Tikiania you will be wed on the next full moon."

Her eyes widen, "I can't marry him! He ruthless..."

She quickly was cut off by her stepmother, "He will bring wealth to the family! Your father is aging and wants you to grow up and get married."

Tikiania looked at her father she has noticed that he has aged but she knew that they were getting plenty to eat, "Papa please I don't want to get married at least yet! You know I want to...."

"I know my sweetie but your stepmother knows what best for you." he sighs and plaster a smile.

"It also not about what you want, it about keeping your family honor." she barks then reset herself to be the calm figure, "This kind of behavior won't be tolerated tonight when you'll see your husband to be."

"But..."

"It time to get your mind off the fantasy, you have a role to this family."

Tikiania saw her father eyes pleading to agree, "of course."

"Tikiania you are excused to get ready for tonight."

"Tiki..." Her father stopped her as she was about to leave, "I have a gift from your mother." he pulls out a tiny box from his kimono.

"What the..." her stepmother looked surprised and angry in the same expression.

"Her biological mother Kataro." he answered her and gently put it in Tiki hand, "They were hers when we got married," he says as Tiki opens to see red jade earrings, "she said they were her lucky charms and that one day she wants her daughter to wear them when her life is going to change."

"Heh Thanks, father I'll treasure them." she smiles and kisses her father on the cheek.

"Tikiania your proper manners." her stepmother said sternly.

Tikki bowed to her father and left. Even with the earring, she doesn't feel comfortable on the path she is on. As she thinks about what was going happen. She was still next o the doorway to where her stepmother and father were.

Stepmother and father conversation
"Saizo she such a burden." Katara growled quietly.

"My daughter is a burden?" Saizo burst.

Tiki heard this comment and left.

"Of course. She acts like a commoner and spoiled one if I can add."

"No Ting-ting raised her well in morales and grace. Tiki is so much like her mother, that she can never be a burden."

"Well, that peasant blood that runs in vain is the reason that she does not have etiquette. Thanks to me she is the apple of every men eye. She can help us gain more fortune."

"You already charge taxes on the peasants we really do not need a wedding."

"You are a retired chief samurai that lives like a merchant. You have to have the image and keep me happy."

"Of course but I want my daughter to be happy."

"She doesn't know what good for her. You'll see she will be happy." she smiled an evil smirk as Saizo rubbed his eyes. She thought, "With that girl out of the way I can send off Saizo as well to his death. Then my plan can proceed.

Tiki sat in her garden next to the great dragon.(Tiki pov)
I can't believe he would say that. Me a burden?

Maybe if I leave then he'll realize what stepmother is making me do is not what I wanted.

Ugh, Tiki you're being so frustrated. No, no I'm right I know what... I...Stepmother, right I do live in a fantasy. I told myself as I looked at my reflection in the puddle. Mama always said to follow my heart and do what is right. I know getting married is not it.

I look at the wall and hear the crowds of a peasant. Then looked at the earrings she left me. Mama if you were here with me now. You knew all the things we planned. I want to live my life the way you said I would. With courage as my light like you made me believe. Mama, you said I can go to places I never been or seen.

Now with these earrings, you left me I know you had hope for me. But maybe you would not think that if you saw how much a burden I am. Maybe if I leave for good then I wouldn't be a burden to my father.

Tiki left to her room, "Ming can you help me with something."

"Of course Lady Tikiania."

"Ming you know very well that you can call me Tiki. Or are we not friends?" Tiki teased her angrily as Ming shrank down.

"Tiki you know I could get in trouble." Ming whins as she looks around to see if anyone is listening.

"Look I need you to help me get ready to leave."

"Your!" Tiki covered Ming mouth to whisper, "leaving!"

"I have to.." Tiki sighs.

"What? Why?"

"Father wants me to get married."

"But I thought it was your choice. He must need your help." Ming reassured, "Please don't leave."

"He doesn't that why he wants me to get married."

Ming stayed silent lost in thought then look up at Tiki, "I'll go with you."

"You can't come I have to go alone and I need you to be here. But I promise to visit you when I'm ready." Tiki reassured.

Ming started to tear up but wiped it away with her kimono, "Okay. I'll help you."

"Thank you Ming." Tiki hugged her, "I plan on leaving tonight after the banquet."
