The Invisible Hand

A droid entered the command bridge, holding in his hand a datapad with the hyperlane routes of the edges of the Outer Rim territories. In the middle of the room, the infamous general that made entire sectors shiver at the thought of his invasions, was gazing into a blue hologram.
'... the Expedition must finish in 2 months at best, General. It is important that you succeed but we still need you as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy.
Dooku was subtly telling him that his absence would have great effects so he will be missed for the time being.
'Of course, Count... the raspy voice exited the receptors of the cyborg. Whatever civilization is located in Sector X will be assimilated into the Separatist Alliance.
'Very good. You may proceed.
The hologram faded and the General turned to the droids on the deck.
'Prepare to jump into Hyperspace! Have all shields ready for battle.
'Sir, the first destination is ready. Should we start the jump?
'Yes... Grievous nodded and hid his hands behind his dark cloak. In a few seconds, a fleet of 20 ships exited Serenno's orbit...

Char

The first planet Grievous saw was a seemingly volcanic one, similar to Mustafar. However, his sensors picked up that multiple lifeforms were in orbit, and millions on the ground.
'Sir! The lifeforms around the orbit are approaching us! a battle droid announced from his console.
'Battlestations! Eradicate every alien that comes near us! Grievous barked quickly. There was no need for diplomacy... yet.
'Roger roger! the dumb droid nodded.
At first, the flying aliens dodged the lasers but as they approached, the turbolasers from the Separatist fleet destroyed them. However, another wave was coming from the planet.
'Sir, we are detecting a huge number of lifeforms coming towards the planets from all angles.
'What do you mean? Grievous asked curious.
'Sir, look at this!
Grievous approached the console that was depicting a green screen. On it, the fleet was showing beeping, and from a far, dots were coming towards them, many dots. And they weren't stopping from coming.
'We have to go towards the planet! It is clear the creatures are trying to protect it!
'But sir, that would mean ...
'Shatter their blockade around us! We are stronger than them! Send out our starships!
'Yes sir!
The General growled a bit and walked towards the window of the deck. He could see the burning planet and a swarm of flying monsters coming towards them. They seemed limitless.
'This is more challenging than I thought, Grievous mumbled to himself. It was actually fun.
An alien approached the Invisible Hand enough so that when it was shot, it crashed into the Bridge's window. Grievous analyzed as the creature splashed on the glass. It was gross, but he was no longer in a need to feel disgusted by such trivial manners.
'How are we holding? he sudennly asked the Tactical Droid that was stressing behind him.
'The fleet's integrity is at 92%. The outer rank of our cruisers are starting to be ripped by the endless attack.
'Interesting. What about our squadrons?
'Minimal to no damage for now. The Vulture droids are clever enough to dogfight the aliens and win with little damage.
'Good.
The Separatist fleet continued to move forward, destroying thousands of aliens in it's way, but as the Tactical Droid informed Grievous, the 10 Munificent frigated that were surrounding the capital ships were starting to get destroyed. It would be a matter of time before they would be completely rendered offline and then the fight would be more complicated.
It kept one hour until Grievous decided that he was close enough. He turned and walked towards the Central Console. Before him, he analyzed the data the sensors were picking on the ground. The number was consistent: a few billions lifeforms were on the ground. Much more than he had, for sure.
'General, one ship has fallen! a droid announced.
'Very well, it is time we take the fight to the ground. Prepare the landingcrafts!
'General, the aerial attack is too strong, the landingcrafts will be destroyed before they reach the ground.
'Then that means we don't have many chances to spare. I want to find the Command Centre of this planet.
Grievous put the sensors again to scan for the base of the monsters. He saw that a certain place on the planet was more filled with edifices than the others.
'Are the troops prepared? Grievous raised his eyes from the console and stared towards the Tactical Droid.
'Yes sir, 20 000 droids are ready to deploy.
'I will be joining them with my ship. Take control of the fleet and brief me of any important events.
'Yes, General!
The cyborg turned quickly and left the bridge thirsty for battle...
