Shakuras North Pole
'It seems the Hierarch was speaking very serious about a remote location... Grievous mused loudly in the ship that was currently flying over a cold icy peak. There were a few Protoss males in the ship with him and the pilot. Hijacking it would have been easy but, he was not thrilled enough. After all, the Separatist Fleet will arrive in a few days, and the planet will be under his control.
'We have arrived, sir! the pilot annouced the Protoss guard captain.
'Very well, Taros, warp us in the building.
'What do you mean by warp? Grievous asked.
'Our technology allows us to warp from one place to another to avoid long distances.
'I could see how that is helpfull in war...
'Of course. You won't feel anything, just stay calm.
'Hah, I wouldn't get nervous for...
Before Grievous could finish his sentence he felt as his body dissapeared piece by piece until his vision went black for a second, then it showed him the inside of his new house. The zealots were there too, but in their face was Selendis standing in a very large blue robe, made for the cold weather.
'Welcome, General... she greeted solemnly.
'En taro Tasadar! the zealots said.
'En taro Tasadar, friends! I believe I will take it from here.
'Very well.
Grievous just stared how the zealots were instanly warped, dissapearing in full sight.
'Impressive technology... the General admitted quietly.
'Indeed. It was a very important step in our society.
The General grunted at her and crossed his hands to then glance at her suspicious.
'What are you doing here, Executor?
'I am your ... the Protoss tried to be as nice as possible... ergh... host in the Sanctuary until your fleet arrives.
'Host?
Grievous widened his eyes and surpressed a chuckle.
'Well, I only need to see where I could sit to wait, because I am above your organic needs.
'Of course. The Sanctuary isn't big, but is very harmoniously built to...
'Silence, Executor! I don't need a presentation. Grievous snapped very annoyed. Just show me the room and remain quiet.
The Executor was taken aback by the lack of respect and diplomacy.
'As you wish, General.
The female Protoss walked over a golden corridor with large windows. The General just walked behind her, his talons leaving a scratchy sound on the impecable floor. It did drive Selendis insane as the sound was not stopping. A door opened and they entered a circular room with the ceiling made of glass so that the sky could be observed during the day or night. Grievous noticed a chair and walked slowly towards it and sat down quietly.
'Is there anything else you wish? Selendis asked.
'Yes! Grievous answered right away. Why are you acting so politely, protoss fleshling? I am actually very annoyed by your "care" towards me.
"So am I" Selendis wanted to say but she reconsidered it.
'I am showing that you are a well recieved guest...
'That won't sell it to me. Try a different approach or you are going to get demoted. Grievous said in a semi- joke semi- threat tone.
'You are really annoying you know that? Selendis shouted very angry.
'So there is the true face of my "host"... the General said victorious.
'If you have stopped being impolite, I shall exit the room.
'No you won't! Grievous ordered her.
'Oh? Selendis asked surprised.
'I still need your services. Firstly, what was that "en taro tassadar" from the beggining?
'It'a a common greeting amongst our kin. It means "honor to tassadar".
'What is "tassadar"?
'He was once the leader of our race that sacrificed his life so that the Zerg brain will be destroyed.
'Zerg Brain? What do you mean? Isn't the brain of the zerg the Queen of Blades?
'No, before her ascension to leadership, the Zerg Swarm was controlled by an immortal brain that held sway over everyone of those creatures. Tassadar used his powers of the High and Dark Energy to destroy him and cripple the Zerg forever.
'I see...
The General remained quiet for a moment as he mentally rolled his eyes. Those Protoss and the entire sector was very weird. He now started to understand how the power was divided between the factions. Bored by the long wait and the fact that Selendis was just staring at him, expecting a question, Grievous revealed his hilts. Selendis raised her inexistend eyebrows.
'I need to entertain myself. So, I have a proposal. If you want to wash the stain that I provoked earlier this day, defeat me with my weapon.
'Stain?
'Yes, being defeated by a defenseless enemy is shamefull, even if that enemy is a capable one.
'You overestimate yourself.
'We shall see...
He threw the hilt towards the Executor and ignited a blue lightsaber himself. He pointed it at Selendis. She ignited the hilt and gasped.
'What is it? he asked curious.
'It is... weightless! The weapon!
'Indeed. Now, attack, Executor!
'But...
Grievous started spinning his lightsaber and approached her, then swinged his weapon just in time so that Selendis could block it.
'Are you insane!? That would have killed me!
'I fail to see the problem. Grievous replied very mockingly. Come now, Executor, at least try to be a challenge!
Grievous slashed his saber but Selendis quickly dodged. She tried to cut his midsection, but the General blocked it quickly, then he used his hand to punch the Protoss a few steps back. Selendis was shocked. She gasped for air but Grievous forced her to raise her sword to stop his from another fatal attack. The saberlocked released a deafening sound but Grievous enjoyed it very much. The blue light that was coming from the common point was giving both of their faces an unnatural look.
'Are you such am easy prey? If an Executor like you is so weak, I doubt the Zerg had any difficulty to destroy your homerworld!
Grievous waited for a rection grinning, but then he felt a massive surge of anger coming from Selendis. She literally pushed him with so much force that he broke the wall and fell in the next room with rubble all over him. The shock of the blast effectively crushed his weapon into oblivion and made his chest leave a few pieces of duranium all over the floor.
'Arghh... Grievous groaned , feeling a searing pain in his chest. He moved a piece of the wall away from him and shook his head. His vision was still blurred a little. He distinguished the slender form of the female approaching him with his lightsaber pointed to his chest.
'You are defeated! Selendis claimed very satisfied.
'No, this is imp...
'Just admit it already.
Grievous finally saw the tip of the laser in front of his face, much closer than he would like.
'Very well.
Selendis closed the lightsaber and threw the hilt on the ground. Grievous started trying to get up, seriously shaken by the fight. He finally regained his balance and redressed his cloak. He had been beaten by the protoss. In the same shamefull way the Jedi did in the past when they would see they couldn't match him.
'Your blast was very... powerfull.
'I am sorry but you forced me to use it, General. You mentioned some dark memories...
'So it seems. My taunting backfired unfortunately!
'Now, is it anything more you desire? the woman asked very bored but still with a arrogant tone. Grievous knew this was as a result to his defeat.
'No... leave me be, Executor.
'As you wish. See you later, General...
With that, the Protoss turned and extied the room through the new door Grievous made. He watched her leave impressed and angry. The conquest would prove harder than anticipated...
