His smile, his eyes, his hair... Everything about him is perfect, and I love him so much.
"Kinnikwa, why are you staring at a picture of a boy?" My father's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and I quickly turned my gaze from the picture, to my father.
"I, uh, no reason..." I trailed off, my cheeks turning red from embarrassment. My father gave me a disapproving look.
"Kinnikwa... Don't tell me you like this boy," he said, gesturing to the picture on the screen of my laptop. I looked at the picture, then looked down in shame.
"It doesn't matter. You won't let me date anyway..." I exclaimed, having a moment of bravery as I stood up and stared my father in the eyes. "I am not a little girl anymore, and I don't care if you are protecting me, but this is ridiculous." His gaze hardened for a moment, and I suddenly had a wave of fear come crashing over me, but I didn't back down. While I still seemed brave, I decided to make one more thing clear. "Also, stop calling me Kinnikwa! I go by Kiki." After a moment of silence, my father turned and exited my room. I let out a sigh of relief and slumped down into my chair.
I must be the world's biggest idiot if I just stood up to my father.
I looked back to the picture on my computer screen, and smiled at the kind eyes that stared right back. Kade Dylan, one of the most popular kids at school. Rumor has it that he was kicked out of his last school for getting involved with bullying. Whether he was being bullied, or doing the bullying, I wasn't sure. He looked to sweet to hurt someone.
"Daddy is soooo maaaad at yooouuu," a little, taunting voice said. I looked to my left, and saw my little sister, Alesa, standing in the doorway to my bedroom.
"Alesa, go back to your room. It's past your bedtime," I said, standing up and walking towards her to escort her back to her bedroom.
"I can't sleep! Daddy is being loud, complaining about you to mommy. He's really angry at you. What did you do?"
I swear this girl doesn't shut up.
"Nothing, now get to bed missy. You need to get up in the morning for school," I said to Alesa, gently pressing my hands to her back and guiding her to her bedroom.
"So do you," she replied.
Smartass.
"Fine, I solemnly swear that I am up to no good, but if you go to bed I'll go to bed. Sisters' promise?" I turned her around and held out my right pinky for her. She hooked her right pinky with mine, and smiled.
"Sisters' promise. This is our sisters before misters," she giggled, and my eyes widened.
"Alesa, no! Dont watch anything like that until you're older. Now get to bed before mom and dad get involved," I ordered. Alesa stuck out her bottom lip and pouted, before turning and walking into her bedroom. I shook my head and walked back to my room. "Alesa, what am going to do with you?" I though aloud, closing the door behind me. I still had the picture of Kade up on my laptop, and I smiled when I saw it.
I can't wait to meet you...
