The Chicago Red Stars are getting ready for their last home game of the regular season against the Houston Dash and defender Sarah Gorden was excited yet terrified for not only the game but for after the game.
"You ready for this?" her captain Vanessa DiBernado asks taking a seat next to Sarah and Sarah just takes a deep breath. "Don't be nervous, we all know she'll say yes."
"I hope so." Sarah says. "Thanks V, for everything."
"No problem Sarah. The least I can do for one of the best defenders around." Vanessa says standing up.
The team was heading to warm ups when Sarah's fellow defender Julie Johnston came up to her.
"Hey, don't worry to much. I know how special she'll feel when you ask her." JJ says as they start passing the ball around.
"Thanks J," Sarah says as Press walks over.
"Hey, Lyssa wanted to do a drill." Press says and JJ and I nod and start walking towards Lyssa with Press.
Press was trying to get around us while Alyssa Naeher was keeper.
"Ugh!" Press exclaimed as Sarah tackled the ball away from her.
"Nice try Press." she says passing her the ball back and Press just sighs and trys again.
They continue until coach called them into the locker room.
Sarah goes to sit in her locker with her earbuds and does her visualizations of what will happen happen in the game but most importantly what will happen after the game when she going to ask her girlfriend to marry her.
She sees that her coach was starting to gather the girls for pregame huddle and speech so she gets out of her locker and takes out her earbuds and heads to the rest of the girls.
"Okay girls, finally game of the season. I know this is a big game for most of you, your last game of your first season and I want to say it's been a pleasure working all of you." he says and everyone nods. "But I still expect us to win this! I want you to make sure we keep Carli Lloyd, Morgan Brian, Janie Beckie and Rachel Daly quiet. V and Manda, that will be a lot on you two but I also want our back line to be working extremely hard. I want high pressure. Alright, let's go win this thing. Stars on 3, 1, 2, 3 STARS!"
The team splits and the starters got into the hall and Sarah saw Rachel and couldn't help but smile and mouth a 'hey' to her and all Rachel did was laugh.
Soon the game was on and the Dash had kick off.
Morgan Brian was able to slip a ball through to Rachel but Sarah was quickly on her and shut her down, tackling the ball away and passing it back to JJ who distributed to Amanda who got it up to Stephanie McCaffrey who took the shot but Lydia Williams the Dash keeper was able to snatch it.
It stayed that way until the Red Stars got a corner and JJ headed just past Cari Roccaro who was on the near post.
Soon the game was over and it was time for Sarah to finally do it.
She gave everyone on the Dash and handshake or a hug but left Rachel until last and when she finally got to Rachel she had the biggest smile on her face.
"Hey beautiful." Rachel says walking up to Sarah.
"Hey gorgeous," Sarah says pecking Rach's lips. "You know how much I love you right?"
"Of course, and I love you just as much... If not more." Rachel says giving Sarah another hug.
"Well then," Sarah says getting down on one knee as her teammate Sofia Huerta threw her a small box and she opened it and it was a diamond ring and the crowd roared as they saw this action. "Since you know I love you so deeply, very much I'm just gonna go out and say it and ask, Will you marry me?"
Rachel was crying before Sarah even asked and put her hand over her mouth before nodding vigorously.
"Yes, Yes Yes!" Rachel said and put her hand out and as Sarah slid the ring over her finger she heard both of the teams cheering as loud as they could.
Sarah stood up so she was face to face with Rachel. Rachel started to lean in for a kiss but before they could Sarah stopped her to say, "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that."
"Shut up and just kiss me." Rachel said just before smashing her lips on Sarah's.
"I love you so incredibly much."

Well I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a million years but I start high school in like 13 days :(
Anyways, I promise I'll get to the request you guys have sent in soon and I'm sorry this was a poop one shot but I tried.
