Laura's POV
"Lauuurrraaaaaa." The little twerp whines next to me in shotgun.
I sigh, "What is it Jb?" I say glaring a bit, he's such a handful.
"Jb needs to use toilet, fast...." I mentally scream, I swear his bladder is the size of a microscopic animal.
"Jb! First of all, stop talking in third person, you noob-it's weird, second- we just stopped to pee! You decided to wash the car windows instead!" I say frustrated.
"I know... But the bird poop was making my eye twitch, I had to clean it. And also- I didn't need to pee then, you did. So technically it's not my fault." He says stubbornly, crossing his arms and titling his head up in defiant. I roll my eyes but smile a bit.
"Whatever, princess." I take the next exit- driving up into a gas station. His face turns into a deadly glare form the nickname.
I smirk, "Hurry up and make a whiz, dollface." I say and his face scrunches into a disgusted one. He grabs something from the side of my car door- putting into his pocket. I pretend I don't see, "I'm not a dollface!" He exclaims leaving the car go pee. I laugh as he gallops to the restroom, my god- he looks like a horse.
I smile, he sure has a character.
My phone vibrates, I sigh, checking it.
Another message from Ross.
Laura, just tell me you're safe.
I feel horrible keeping him out of the loop. But I just feel like a disease. I am one actually. I'm broken and f*cked up.
I can't just ignore him forever. So I finally decide to respond.
Ross, I'm safe, I'm sorry. Please stop texting me.

This message doesn't make me feel any better. I put my phone down only to get another vibration immediately.
I can't... Not after the letter you left Laura. Just come home, everyone misses you so much. Especially me.
I close my eyes, letting out a huge breath I've been holding in.
The car door opens, bringing me back to reality.
"Damn, never have taken that long of a whaz, AHAHHAA." Jb says laughing to himself. I flip my phone down, roughly.
"Whoa! Jesus woman, calm down." He says half-heartily. I roll my eyes, "Are you ready princess?"
He glares, "Stop calling me that, you buttface."
My mouth twitches upwards, "Why? You are so high maintenance, it's only fitting." I state truthfully. Jb slaps his face and groans, "God I hate you." He says and I laugh warmly, "Love you too bud."
We fall into silence until Jb speaks up.
"So you gonna tell me why you were so gloomy before?"
This takes me by surprise, "I was not gloomy." I say maybe too quickly.
He scoffs, "Laura, I've gotten to know you, seriously, what's the issue? You can tell me." I sigh, I guess I can... He's Jb.
I shake the thought, "It's nothing."
He hums to himself, "You can't keep everything bottled up you know, just telling one person can lift a lot of weight off your shoulders."
