Chapter 11 An Old Memory

"Laurance don't make me shove this apple sauce down your throat" I say to him, ever since his dad had left for the military and passed away and his mom had been diagnosed with breast cancer he's been really depressed " I'm not hungry Ali" he responds "bullshit, your not, I've left you for two days and you haven't eaten" I say "yea, well" he says as he gets up and starts to go upstairs of his house "Laurance, Irene I swear, I'm going to make you some soup and you better eat it, do you understand" I say to him "Gezz your acting like my mother" he says back with a smile "well I need to make sure my little demon is well fed" I say pinching his cheeks "But mom" he whines and we break out laughing"are you going to eat?" I ask him "fine" he says. I make him some soup and once he's done I clean up and we walk upstairs to his room.he lies down and I sit on the bed "so,how's your mom?" He asks "not bad,but she's crazy in love with Beyoncé" I say "Haha very puny" he says I giggle. We continue to talk until we hear the door slam and hear a call of "Laurance" then thumping feet on the stairs. The door opens and a black haired blue eyed girl walks in "hi, I'm Blair and you are?" Blair asks "I'm Ali " I say. I knew Laurance had a sister but I'd never met her "I didn't know Laurance had company, it's just our moms worried cause she never sees him" Blair says. Laurance looks at her with a straight face and I think to myself were did my smiling boy go?. "I'll go if you want" I offer because I hate being in awkward situations "no, please stay"she says I nod "I'm making dinner soon,would you like to stay" Blair asks "I'd love to" I say. So Blair left and went downstairs "your going to eat a bit" I say to Laurance"but I just ate" he complains "yea 6 hours ago" I say. We here a call from downstairs "coming" I yell back "at least socialize with your sister, she seems nice" I say" greaaat socializing what fun" he says sarcastically. We walk downstairs and sit at the table. I help Laurance get his food then I get mine, it was quiet so I told Blair how we met "that's awesome " she smiles Laurance lets out a little grunt in response and I playfully punch him in the arm and tell him to shut up "I'm full" Laurance says and picks at his salad "mmhmm, laurance if you don't eat I'll make you" I say "Ali I said I'm full" Laurance says "EAT" I say as I shove a fork full of salad into his mouth he smiles but only until Blair coughs "sorry to interrupt but Ali would you like to stay the night, it's getting dark and I don't want you walking home" she says "yea I'll stay" I say I walk up to the sink and start doing the dishes "I'll show you to the guest bedroom if you want, and you shouldn't be doing the dishes that's my job" Blair says "no it's ok and I do the dishes normally anyway" I say as I finish "Laurance go upstairs and get ready I'll be there in a second" I say he walks upstairs and so does Blair. I grab my backpack from the living room and go into the bathroom to get changed. I walk upstairs and I hear crying I look in on Blair and ask"are you ok" she sniffs under her sheets" yea just thinking about dad" she says "if you ever need to talk I'll ether be the sister you can cry to or the friend who will bail you out of jail" I say she giggles. I walk to Laurances room and see him in bed" are you going to sleep kick me again?" I ask smiling "I have no control over that and you know it" he says and moves over. I crawl into bed with him and we fall asleep"
