I'm in the elevator going up to my apartment. When I finally get there I smell smoke but think nothing of it. I grab my keys and unlock my door. I take my shoes off and walk over to the kitchen to get a snack.
"SHIT!" I yell. My house is in fire. How did this even happen!?
JOEY'S P.O.V
I get out if Satsuki and see a whole heap of firefighters outside the building.
"What happened?" I asked a pretty woman. She had long brown hair that had teal dip-dyed ends, her eyes were a pretty hazel colour and she had nice tanned skin. She also was too much shorter than me, on 2 or 3 inches shorter.
"My apartment is on fire..." She replied.
"Oh, sorry... How did it happen?" I asked.
"I dunno, when I got home my kitchen was on fire." She said.
A fire fighter walked up to her.
"Ma'am, the building is still stable, but I'm afraid that your apartment isn't intact."
"Ok... Um. Do I need to pay for the damage?" She asked him.
"Yes, I'm afraid so." He replied giving her a piece of paper and then walking away. Her whole face dropped.
"Oh... My... God." She said. "I'm gonna have to move back in with my parents, I can't afford to pay rent anywhere." She mumbled to herself.
"You could stay with my room-mate and I." Why did I say that?
"Uh, no I couldn't." She said.
"No, I insist. I'll just check with my room-mate now." I said.
"Um. Ok. Thank you so much."
I got out my phone and sent Sawyer a text.
Me: can a girl stay with us?
Sawyer: you don't have to ask to have a girlfriend
Me: she's not my girlfriend, I only just met her
Sawyer: umm, why do you want her to live with us if you've only just met her?
Me: her apartment caught of fire and she can't afford to pay for damage and rent
Sawyer: I guess so, but if she turns out to be a serial killer, it's your fault.
"It's ok with my roommate." I tell her.
"Thank you so much! Oh, by the way my name's Charlotte." She said extending out her arm.
"Joey, nice to meet you."
