"Damnit Kendall!"
Maddie heard Chloe exclaim from across the hall, and then the telltale sounds of an object dropping. It echoed out because the door was open, and also because Chloe's floor was all hardwood.
"What are they doing now?" Kalani groaned, annoyed, right beside her.
"I guess I'll go make sure they don't kill each other," Nia, who was on the other side of Maddie, gave a resigned sigh. She climbed off the chair that was perched in front of the mirror they were sharing, and disappeared behind the corner.
Maddie shook her head with amusement, but as the thoughts of upcoming events seeped into her head again, she felt like doing backflips. It had taken a summer, and a whole lot of babysitting jobs, but her friends and her had finally saved up enough money to buy concert tickets to Urban Rhapsody- their favorited boy band of all time.
Maddie knew all of their songs by heart, bought all of their albums, wore all of their merchandise, and knew each member's birthday, pet name, and favorite color. She considered herself to be the epitome of a fangirl.
"I'm so excited Kal," Maddie gushed, nearly bouncing on the ball of her heels as she applied the last coat of eye-liner on. "I can't believe we're going to see them! This is literally the best night ever!"
"I know right!" Kalani, equally as excited, gushed beside her, swiping on a fresh coat of lip gloss. "Tonight is going to be legendary! I can't wait to hear Josh sing, he's so hot it honestly hurts."
Suddenly, Kendall had stumbled through the threshold, startling both Maddie and Kalani. There was a bag of ice covered with a paper towel that was wrapped around the pretty brunette's hand as she stumbled into the room and sat beside Maddie.
"What happened this time?" Maddie asked, shooting a knowing glare at her.
Kendall shrugged innocently, "Well, I was just minding my own business and curling my hair for the concert tonight...when all of a sudden Chloe walks in and I accidentally burned myself. And then I might have accidentally dropped the curling iron on the rug and burned a hole into it a teensy bit."
Kalani snorted, "You burned yourself and Chloe's rug?"
"She surprised me!" Kendall protested, trying to cross her arms, but winced when it touched her wound.
"It's official Kendall, you're a kultz." Maddie teased, and Kalani laughed with her.
Kendall scoffed in embarrassment, "Hey! I am not a kultz!"
"I bet Chloe and her rug would tell you different." Nia added, walking into the room as well. This only caused Maddie and Kalani to laugh harder.
Put out, Kendall grumbled something under her breath, feeling the sheepish heat rise in her cheeks.
"Anyways, we need to get going if we're going to grab some good seats. Chloe's mom will take us there." Nia said, grabbing her sweater which was hanging from the couch.
"Got'cha." Kalani replied, as all three of the girl's got up from the vanity in front of them.
Chloe had met them at the bottom of the staircase, and she paused before opening the door. "Are you guys ready for the best night of our lives?"
They all nodded, and Chloe opened the door.

HEYOOO, I'M BACK!
Sorry for being basically M.I.A all summer, I had a lot of stuff going on. But anyways, I'm back and kicking off this new school year with my new Mino fic, as promised! I just wanted to give you guys a little preview of what's happening, although it's not much.
As you've probably figured out, all the girls are going to be in it except for Mackenzie and Brynn. And as for the band "Urban Rhapsody" (I know the name is kinda weird but it took me forever to come up with it), Josh is the lead singer, Lucas is the electric guitarist, Zack is the keyboard guy, and Gino is the drummer.
I'm still finishing the first chapter, but it won't be long until it is posted. That also goes for my Quirky fans and Replay fans.
Thanks for reading this prologue-of-sorts! I would really like to hear your guy's comments on To the Beat of My Own Drums!
