"So, Ave, what'd you do over the summer?" Sienna Lewis asked as she sat down next to her best friend, Avery Taylor.
"Oh, you know, Florida and stuff. Sorta just hung around and went to the pool, y'know, since they haven't buried us alive with homework yet." Avery responded with a laugh. Sienna laughed, and looked up, spotting the girls' other friend, and Avery's twin brother, Elliot.
"Hey, Elliot! Over here!" Sienna waved the brown-haired boy over to where the girls were sitting.
"Hay gurl hay..." Elliot said in his best voice impression of a girl when he got near enough.
"Elliot...we do not sound like that..."
"I know, but gimme a break alright? It's Monday."
"Don't even remind me...ugh.." Sienna replied with a groan that quickly turned into a yawn as she let her head fall onto her desk.
Sienna's head quickly snapped up when she was suddenly reminded of something. "Ohmigawd, Avery, did you see Blake's haircut? He looks so different with his hair short!"
"Well, Sienna, he's had, like, the entire summer to get his hair cut..." Avery looked over at her friend like she was stupid.
"yeah, but still, I haven't seen him since the last day of school, and that was in May. Plus, the only time I've talked to him was two weeks ago and that's it! And I sorta felt like I was bothering him because he didn't show much emotion."
"Ohmigawd, I know right! He does that all the time, and it pisses me off!" Avery responded in agreement.
Just then, the bell rang, and Avery turned back around for the start of Geometry. Throughout the lesson on reflection over the x- and y-axes, Sienna's mind wandered and began to wonder if, maybe, just maybe, there was an actual reason for Blake's new personality, and what it was.
