Sorry again:(
Ashton POV
As our plane landed I let out a relieved sigh, putting my book in my bag, happy that we were on ground again. Even though I wasn't happy as to why we were here. I had never been a fan of flying, and spending hours in a jam packed airplane wasn't exactly my idea of a good time.
I grabbed my carry on luggage beneath the seat in front of me and looked over at my little brother, Luke. His dark brown hair resembled a mop, almost covering his closed eyes. His breathing was even and smooth. I smiled to myself and shook him gently, but instantly felt bad for waking him up.
Luke's bright brown eyes opened quickly and he seemed startled, forgetting where he was.
"We're here Luke, get your bags fast so we can try to get off of this death trap."
He blinked quickly and rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands before letting out a big yawn.
"Already? That was fast..." He said looking around at his surroundings.
"It might have been fast for you sleepy head, but for me it took ages." I said to him smiling then ruffling his hair.
"Ahhh come on AJ, it wasn't that bad." My older brother Beau said behind me, smirking at my childhood nickname and stretching his arms.
I turned around and shoved him playfully before looking at Jace, Beau's identical twin, who was still fast asleep. Beau looked over at Jace and started shaking him furiously making his eyes fly open and his body went rigid.
"Dammit Beau I thought the plane was going down! What the hell is wrong with you?" He half yelled through his teeth. Beau just laughed and continued to get his luggage.
The four of us stumbled off of the plane, our legs weak from sitting so long. We walked through the airport and to the baggage claim, getting each of our suitcases then going outside to wait for our Aunt Kay to pick us up.
We all sat on a bench and looked at our surroundings. My parents are marine biologists and just recently got a job offer in Hawaii, one that they couldn't let pass. The job payed 3 times more than their old one did, and I was more than happy for them. The draw back to them getting this job was the fact that we had to move. My mom and dad gave the four of us a choice, the choice being to either move with them to Hawaii, or to move across the country to Santa Cruz, California and move in with our Aunt.
Don't get the wrong idea, we wanted to move with our parents. Well, we really wanted to just stay in Texas because that was our home, but they wouldn't have that. Anyways, our parents pretty much talked us into moving in with our Aunt Kay. She lived at home alone and would have a lot more time to look after us, unlike my parents. They would be preoccupied with their new job and the move would be very hard on us.
So that's why the four of us sit outside of the airport, waiting for her to arrive. I pulled out my phone and looked at the time, seeing that our Aunt was 20 minutes late. I gritted my teeth, becoming impatient, but decided to go through my messages.
I had a couple from mom and dad asking how the flight went, one from my bestfriend back home, and six from my ex boyfriend Dean.
My heart sped up as I saw his name and I quickly deleted the messages, not even bothering to read them. He didn't deserve a reply from me after what he did.
My thoughts went away as I saw a black suburban appear in front of us, holding my Aunt Kay behind of the wheel.
She smiled widely at us and jumped out of the car enveloping all of us in a giant hug. I hadn't seen her in ten years, and she hadn't changed a bit. Although her hair had become a bit more grey, her eyes were still full of wonder and imagination, something I loved about this woman.
"Oh it's been years since I've seen all of you! Jace, Beau, still looking as mischievous as ever," she said smiling then winking at them, "and Ashton you have grown into such a beautiful young woman. Oh and there is my little boy, Luke! Still young and full of innocence. Hold onto that." She said giving him a stern look that faded into a smile.
We all laughed with her and grabbed our bags. "Are you all ready to see your new home for the next year?" Aunt Kay asked while walking to the car.
None of us replied, this wasn't our home. And it never will be.
As we all climbed into the car she turned to look at us with a sincere look on her face,
"I know you all may not like that you are here. But I think you should give the place a chance... This might be just what you all needed. Meet new people and make new friends, this is a fresh start for all of you. A clean slate. Let loose and have some fun while you are here, you might be surprised."
