Chapter 3 - The Vow

About an hour had gone by, and everyone had grabbed a chair and they were now all sitting in the living room around Angelus and Cheveyo, who were still out cold.  Suddenly we see Angelus’s ears start to twitch.  Zane then said : “ Look everyone.  He’s waking up! ”  Angelus then slowly opened his eyes, and then Jaden blurted out : “ Well, good morning this afternoon, you little, old sleepyhead! ”  Zaria, who was sitting on his right, without looking, threw her arm out and punched on the side of his face, knocking him off of his chair.  Zane then smiled at her and said : “ Thanks for that. ”  Zaria then replied : “ Don’t mention it.  Anytime that pest gives me a reason to re-arrange his face, I’ll gladly do it for everyone! ”  Everyone then laughed a little at her comment. 

We then see Yué somewhat laugh, then he looks over at Angelus and says : “ So, Angelus, does it still hurt? ”  Angelus then started trying to get up, but then cringed his teeth a little, showing he was still in pain, then leaned back down into the chair and said : “ Not as much, anymore.  I mean, it hurts a little more than in the old days, but that’s probably because I was used to it, back then. ”  Everyone then looked at him and at each other, puzzled and confused.  Angelus then added on : “ I’m guessing I’ll have to elaborate on that thought, judging by the looks on your faces.  Well then, where shall I begin? ( He paused, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. ) to tell you the truth, there actually was a time where my brother and I got along with each other. ”  Everyone stared at him again, but this time with a surprised expression in their faces. 

Out of nowhere, Jaden then said : “That’s actually really hard to believe, don’t you think? ”  Zaria then quickly glared at him angrily and said : “ I thought I knocked you out just a few seconds ago! ”  Xerxes then added quietly to himself : “ Apparently not. ”  Jaden then looked over at her sarcastically, then replied : “ Please!  I think we both know that NO amount of girl power will take this ( pointing at his face ) out! ”  Zane the goes wide-eyed and said to herself quietly : “ He did not just say that! ”  We then see Zaria, who is now staring at Jaden with EXTREME anger, her face now fuming and turning a deep red color.  She then yelled out : “ YOU BETTER HAVE A WILL WRITTEN OUT!! ”  Jaden then stuttered and blurted out : “ B-b-but…  I’m too young to die!  The women haven’t had the time to… (He flips his hair) cherish my looks, yet! ”

Zaria then swiftly grabbed her bow and loaded an arrow in it so fast that no one had the chance to see it even get taken out.  Rayna then quickly stopped her by saying : “ NO!!  DON’T DO THAT IN MY HOUSE!!  GO TAKE HIM OUTSIDE IF YOU WANT TO KILL HIM!!  I DON’T NEED ANY MORE BLOOD ON MY FLOOR THEN WHAT THERE ALREADY IS!!  IT STAINS, YOU KNOW!!! ”  Jaden then held his breath and gulped in some air, scared for his life which was now hanging on the line.  Zaria then slowly un-drew her bow, making Jaden somewhat sigh in relief, then she said in a complaining tone : “ But he… ”  Xerxes then interrupted her : “ Hey, I’ll help you drag him out, if you want. ”  Zaria then excitedly said : “ Thanks, Xerxes!  You’re such a gentlemen! ”  She then quickly got up and grabbed Jaden by the collar of his top.  Yué then said : “ Hang on!  Don’t go do that just yet!  Let Angelus tell his story, first! ”  Zaria then said, the same complaining tone in her voice : “ AH, COME ON!! (She violently threw Jaden back on the floor) CAN’T I AT LEAST GO KNOCK HIM OUT!?! (Zane then slightly coughed to get her attention.  Zaria looked at her, then Zane nodded over to the floor as if pointing to where Jaden was.  Zaria looked down, then we see that he had passed out) Huh…  I guess he must’ve hit his head on his chair on the way down…  Well, I’d say that was the best 5 minutes I’ve ever wasted! (She sat back down) Alright then, Angelus.  I think we’re ready to hear your story now! ”  Angelus then somewhat laughed, and then he said : “ Alright, then. (He took a deep breath) It was about 5 years before I ran away from home. (We see some somewhat shocked and sad faces as Angelus is talking)  I was but a mere 5 year old child. ”  We see Angelus’s face look upwards, then we have the camera angle follow that direction and the screen fades to white.

*note --> when < ~ > is put in, Angelus is talking, but is telling the story, so it sounds a bit echoed out.  Also, when mentioning the speaker’s name such as Angelus or Cheveyo, it is their younger self talking.*

(scene descends into a somewhat arial view of a castle while Angelus is talking)

< It started off as a quiet day.  Cheveyo and I were doing like we usually did back then : play fighting to improve our skills and other things similar to that. >  The scene merges to a scene with a play area that looked a little like a fighting arena.  We see 2 little boys chasing each other around and play fighting. Then we see the older one of the 2 jump backwards up onto the wall and brace himself up. We then see that it was Cheveyo, then he says : “ Not bad, little bro! You’re getting pretty good! ”  Then we see the younger one, Angelus, standing his ground in somewhat the center of the room. He then said : “ Thanks, but we both know I’ll never be as good as you! ”  Cheveyo then sais : “ Don’t say that! (He jumps down from the wall and lands just a few inches in front of Angelus) You have to keep your hopes and dreams up higher than anything else. If you keep believing in yourself, I’m sure that one day you’ll be able to overpower me! Come on, Angelus! Come and get me! ”  Angelus then looked at him with a determined face and said : “ Thanks for the nice comments, Cheveyo! You gave me just the boost I needed to hear! ”  The 2 then charged at each other and started play fighting again. < Although we were having a lot of fun, that day wasn’t going to end well. That day was Cheveyo’s 8th birthday. For a full-demon like him, there comes a day where there’s no good that comes out of it for someone like me. And that fateful day had finally come for him. >  We see Cheveyo stop and push his brother away, as if something was wrong. Suddenly, he grabbed his head, started screaming in agony, then fell on his knees and pulled his head onto the ground, feeling severe pain. Angelus then said : “ Ch-Che…ve…yo? ” Cheveyo then said, struggling to speak : “ Angelus!.. H-help… me!... I don’t know… w-w-what’s going on!.. My b-body… c-c-can’t take… much more of this!.. ( He gasps and looks up, and we see his eyes slowly change colors. His voice then starts to double out.) Find… a way… to knock me… out!.. It’s… the only way… to stop me!.. Hurry!! ”  Angelus then looked at him, terrified, then went around him and put his arms around Cheveyo’s neck, unsure of what he was doing. Cheveyo then struggled a little, then his eyes changed back and Angelus then let him go. Cheveyo then dropped down and started coughing, trying to catch his breath. He then said : “ Can we make a deal? ( Angelus then nodded at him, still frightened ) If you’re with me when I change like that or I lose control of my body again, I want you to do exactly that, except next time, and any other time after that, I want you to hold on and don’t let go until you know that I’ve passed out, even if I may bring pain to you if the situation gets out of hand, agreed? ”  Angelus, still frightened, then nodded and said : “ Got it! ”  We then see them staring at each other, Cheveyo on his hands and knees, breathing heavily and looking up towards Angelus, who was standing right in front of him, then the screen starts backing up. < That moment there was probably the most horrific of my childhood.  It still haunts me to this day. >  The screen then fades back to white.
