The unknown.

The unknown has always been unfathomable. We are always curious of the unknown and yet we fear it so much. We know nothing and our curiosity takes over us like a fever in the dark.

I went through the opening and was met with stone cold stairs, the only sound I heard were the weight of my feet and drips of water. The stone seemed so old and broken, just as the house; this passage seemed ancient and very well-built. The stairs seemed to go on forever downstairs, I finally got to another door. I put all my strength to the door and tried opening it but it wouldn't nudge. It seemed as though it were a door made out of hard core steel. I examined the door and there was a circle in the middle with the same prick from upstairs on the window seal. I didn't think and brought my finger to the sharp prick. As it pinched my skin, I winced in pain but was too curious to let out a sound. My blood dripped on the stones and the noise echoed through the whole passage. I felt every drip through my spine, the sound slithering against my bare skin like a lively snake.

My blood dripped and gathered itself again like it did before upstairs and I was not ready to face whatever was coming my way. It swirled in circles three times and then stopped and divided itself into six smaller circles forming a star like shape. It sealed into a star and then my blood sunk into the encrustations and turned the circle in the middle of the door revealing the darkness ahead.

The door was even heavier then the first, even after getting it to open it still weighed a ton. I put all my strength on the door and push as hard as I could. Eventually, I pushed so hard that I almost went flying into the unknown which lay behind the door. I regained my balance and looked ahead and was amazing at what I saw, I saw books and books and books. It was a library, and everything in here was so clean and kept in the best way possible when passage looked absolutely dreadful. As I walked forward, I saw weapons hanging on the walls to the right and left of me. There were books and weapons everywhere. It was in steel, silver, and gold. So many riches and jewels were attached to the weapons. There were swords, bows and arrows, spears... and so much more. On the spears, each had a blue gemstone that looked absolutely stunning, the spear itself was made of silver. My fingers swept toward the blade of the spear and I was mesmerized by it's enchanting beauty.

I let my eyes wander around the room and they stopped toward the center of it all.

There in the center lay a magnificently designed table with gold encrusts and jewels all around it. My, it was beautiful. On the table lay a gigantic sword that had gemstones and jewels encrusted into it. If beauty had an image in one's mind, this would definitely be it.

As I continued to approach the table, I was even more amazed by it's detail on every corner and every turn. It was delicate and yet it seemed absurdly mighty.

It sat in the middle of the humongous room and made everything else seem inferior in front of it. It captivated your eyes to the point where you could not look away. It was mesmerizing.

I continued to walk and the same symbol that appeared on he window seal was there again in the center of the table, encrusted in gold. There was so much gold, that it could fill ones intention of greed to their highest content twice over.

My fingers swept the dust from the table and it uncovered more enchanted jewels under the surface. My fingers trailed all the way up to the circular symbol in the middle and as I did, I felt my finger being pricked again. I winced in pain and backed away from the table.

I saw my red luscious blood fall on the table in drips and it started it to move all around the table until eventually it stopped in the center of it where the encrusted symbol lay.

I watched with a hunger that filled my insides up. And there it was, my blood on the symbol swirling and moving in various directions. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion and took a step closer toward the table. I put my hands on the edges of the table and put all my weight in it.

Just as I thought I had seen it all. I fell it the table, as though it were some portal.

I kept falling, and falling into a black hole. As though I were in a never ending haunting dream.

But something was different in this dream. I could never wake up.
