The Asset put out his cigarette as Derek walked in.

He stance was confident but his shoulder held tension and were stiff.

He was hiding something, that much was obvious.

The Asset already knew what that was.

"Lydia said that we should call you 'the Asset'. I need a proper name."

A proper name? He didn't necessarily have a proper name. Not one that he could remember anyway.

"Do you have a name?"

Why did Derek want to know? This wasn't a piece of information that could help him.

The Asset was about to shake his head when something rang through his mind.

Do you have a name?

Do you have a name?

Do you have a.... name?

Yes.

He did.

It...

It started with an....

It started with an 'S'.

No, wait...

Maybe...?

Maybe a 'G'?

G.

S.

G.

Gen--

Genim.

"Genim."

But what about the 'S'?

He could wonder about that later.

Derek nodded.

"Okay."

He paused.

He was trying to find the right words to say.

"Look... Genim,"

The name was awkward in his mouth.

"We need--"

"To take me to the hospital." the Asset finished.

Derek's eyes noticeably widened.

"I heard everything," he continued.

"I'm not going."

The Asset met Derek's eyes and fixed him with a hard stare.

"S-Genim, we have to. You're still hurt and we don't want the injuries to get worse."

Derek seemed.... concerned.

"Why do you care?"

The Asset's tone was snappish yet soft.

He actually wanted to know, however.

Derek seemed actually worried about his injuries.

He shouldn't be.

They would heal eventually.

He'd probably just get hurt again, though.

"You're hurt. That should be enough to cause concern."

The Asset knew to leave the subject at that so he changed it.

"Why do you need me to go to the hospital?"

Derek went to go say something, starting with, "You're hurt." but the Asset cut him off.

"You need me to go there because someone asked you to bring me there."

It was a guess but from the look on Derek's surprised face, the Asset knew he was right.

"Who asked you to bring me there?"

Derek sighed quietly.

"Her name is Melissa. She can help."

The Asset doubted that.

He was curious, however.

He wanted to use that curiosity for his favor.

If he could get to a public place with access to vehicles, he could get out of there.

Before anyone got hurt, would be preferable.

He didn't want more innocent blood on his hands.

He didn't do that anymore.

The Asset made up his mind.

"If I go with you, I only see her."

Derek seemed surprised at his decision.

"Deal."

Derek finished the conversation before awkwardly walking out.

As soon as he did, the Asset tuned into the conversation.

Sharpened senses had been one of the effects the serum had caused.

The doctors called it a gift.

The Asset would disagree.

I mean, who wouldn't if when you concentrated hard enough, you could hear everything within a ten mile radius?

The Asset concentrated and listened in.

"He agreed."

Derek.

"Willingly? He didn't put up a fight?"

It was a girl's voice.

It wasn't Lydia.

He didn't know who it was.

"He said that if he went then he would only see Melissa and no one else."

Derek again.

"What about us?"

Lydia.

"He didn't clarify."

Derek was right.

Someone sighed.

"Then let's get going."

Lydia again.

Leaves crunched under someone's weight.

They were walking towards him.

"Time to meet the Asset."

(A/N: Ah! I know this chapter was short and it sucked but my computer isn't working so I have to use my phone so it makes it a bit hard, but I'm not gonna stop writing. It will, however, take a little bit longer to write. Anyway, thank you for all of the comments and suggestions for my Avengers crossover fic! I'm taking them all into consideration but you'll just have to wait and see what I do *wink*)
