"So how's everybody back home?" Father Jake asked Carol when he chanced upon the girl wandering by herself in one of the gardens at the seminary. The garden was in the form a circle and it was bordered by different kinds of colorful flowers. In the middle of the garden was a small fountain where water flowed out of two angels holding jars turned down.

Carol cannot deny the fact that she was surprised by the sudden appearance of Father Jake. She and Delia decided to take a little walk after breakfast before the next session begins at 8:00 in the morning. Delia decided to do a little exploring on her own and left Carol in the circular garden.

Unknown to Carol, Father Jake had wanted to talk to her ever since their meeting yesterday.  Father Jake thought that he would get the chance to talk with Carol and do a little catching up at breakfast. This was why he woke up very early and was at the mess hall even though breakfast had not yet bee served. When Carol walked into the mess hall, Father Jake's heart sank when he saw Carol's classmates enter the mess hall. So when he saw Carol and Delia leave the mess hall after they had their breakfast, Father Jake followed the two girls.

It was a nice day and the morning sun was shining brightly as Carol and Jake sat on one of the benches in the garden. "Oh they're just fine," Carol replied. "I see..." said the priest.  The two decided to stand up and take a walk around the garden. "So, how are you and Jerry? Surely you must have gotten married by now," said Father Jake while smiling at Carol. Jerry was also Carol's classmate back at the university and he and Jake were good friends. It was he who kept Jake's spirits up every time he got turned down by Carol. Jerry would always advise Jake not to give up and that there will come a time when Carol would say yes to his offering of love.

But then Jake gave up all hope and decided to just go away.  Jake was not aware that Jerry also had special feelings for Carol. When Jake left the university, Jerry grabbed the opportunity to try his luck at winning Carol's heart. Unlike Jake, Jerry was persistent. He too got turned down by Carol several times. But true to what he believed in, he never gave up. Finally, on Valentine's Day, Jake's persistence paid off. It was the happiest moment of his life and  he promised that he will love carol to the last of his breath. But fate sometimes tend to have its way.

Carol took a look at Father Jake. Then she looked up and took deep breath.  "Jerry and I broke up two years after you went away." Carol felt her eyes becoming watery. This did not escape the sight of Father Jake who felt the urge to brush away the tears from Carol's eyes. "I'm sorry, Carol ," said as she brushed away the little tear with the back of her hand.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Father Jake said apologetically. "It must have been difficult," he added. Carol and Jerry thought that their love was a craft by Heaven's hands. They shared so many happy moments and there were many times they almost refused to part ways. They just can't wait for that moment when they will be together. For them, they were meant to be for each other until one fateful evening at Jerry's house.

Since they officially became a couple, Jerry had been inviting to Carol to come to the bachelor's flat he was renting. However, Carol refused to give in to Jerry's invitations since she was busy with her studies. However one night, Carol decided to pay a visit to Jerry's rented flat and surprise her boyfriend. Carol did not know however, that Jerry and two of his friends decided to have a little party at his flat. That's because it was the birthday of one of his friends Mark. Buddy, another one of Jerry's friends decided to invite four girls to their party. Wine and beer seem to flow endlessly as Jerry and his guests drank the night away.

It was almost 10:00 in the evening when Carol arrived at Jerry's rented flat. she could have arrived earlier had it not been for the heavy traffic. Carol knocked on the door and no Jerry came to the door. Carol kept knocking. On instinct, she pushed the door and was surprised to see it open. It was a bit dark at first but Carol's eyes adjusted to the dimly lighted living room. Empty beer and wine bottles were scattered allover the floor. But this was not what caused Carol's eyes to widen with shock. Along with the empty beer and wine bottles lay Jerry and his friends apparently drunk from having drunk too much wine and beer. They were naked and stripped down to their bare essentials. One top of them lay the four girls also naked.

Carol felt her heart about to burst with anger at the sight she witnessed. Unable to withstand looking at her boyfriend, Carol turned around and immediately ran away from Jerry's flat. Her eyes were in tears as she sobbed almost endlessly. She sat on the sidewalk and buried her head in his hands as she sobbed, "Jerry... Jerry.. how could you do this to me? How could you?!!!"

It must have been hours as Carol sat on the sidewalk sobbing her heart out.  She unknowingly feel asleep on the sidewalk with her head buried in her folded arms. When she raised up her head, the sun was already up. She wiped the tears from her eyes, stood up, and flagged the first taxi that passed by.

When she reached home, she threw herself on her bed and started sobbing again. She pounded the bed angrily with her fists as that scene of  Jerry with women on top him played again and again inside her head.

The next morning, while taking her breakfast at the school's cafeteria, she saw Jerry walking toward her. It was a good thing that Carol was almost through with her food when she stood up, quickly gathered her things, and start walking toward the other door of the cafeteria. Jerry quickened his pace as he tried to catch up with Carol. "Carol! Carol!" he called. But Carol did not turn her head to look at her boyfriend. "Carol! Wait up!" Carol was now half walking and half running to avoid Jerry. When Jerry finally caught up with her, she brushed off Jerry's hand off her shoulders, whirled around and gave him a hard slap on the face. "I.. I.." Jerry stuttered. Carol glared at him and she was breathing heavily. She pointed a finger at him as she said, "Go to hell Jerry! Got to hell! We're through!" Carol walked away leaving Jerry red faced and embarrassed.
