When I woke up from my nap, it was quiet. I was trying to figure out what had happened. I came to the conclusion, that as I was gazing at the burning fire I had drifted to sleep unaware. I was then trying to find out, if it was still night or if the day had taken over without my knowledge.
The clock tolled 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 O'clock. I did not really understand time or what the chimes of the clock meant. but there was a stained glass window over the door, it glowed in the daytime and palled at night.
Soon the family members all gathered at the table to eat. I would always hear the younger family members remark, on how they couldn't wait to eat the food. I was let outside once again, the breeze reminded me of my wish to become as the wind, free and independent.
I then jumped into the air as if I was positive that wings would sprout from my body. but alas all I got was a cold mouthful of snow.
What seemed to be a split second, ended up being a whole hour and my owners soon called me inside. But before I made it to my cozy abode, I was pummeled by snowballs that the younger family members were throwing at each other.
Warm again at the fireplace, I knew what Thanksgiving at least meant for me. It meant smelling the crisp air, and then the relief of feeling warm and cozy. It meant craving the smell of dinner and feeling some kind of joy.
But I cant wait till tomorrow, when my family comes so that I can share what I found out and what Thanksgiving means to them.
