~YOUR P.O.V.~
After your mics were attached to your trench coats, you all climbed up the staircase onto the wing of the plane, staying low to avoid being seen through the windows.
"Thanks," you told them quietly, as you got in position, ducking down beneath a window next to Jack. You leaned over to look at Danny. "Danny," you hissed quietly. "You got the stick?"
He looked at you, and nodded. You gave a thumbs up, and looked at Jack.
He looked back at you, gave that smirk that made you go crazy and die a little inside. You smiled back at him, and he reached over to you, and tucked a free piece of hair behind your ear. "It was bothering me," he whispered.
You giggled, and looked up at the window. You watched the lights from inside the plane flicker out, as the fans and rain machines turned off. You peeked through, and watched Mabry and Tressler look at the windows. You all started rising up, laughing at them, much to Mabry and Tressler's disbelief.
"Come on!" you shouted through the glass. You all start cheering as the black covers of the barge walls come down, and you all pull into a group hug, as the announcer started announcing you.
"Ladies and gentlemen, The Four Horsemen!!!" the announcer announced excitedly, as the 4 walls dropped, revealing yourselves to the world.
You, Danny, Jack, and Marritt turned to the audience, and waved, hiding Dylan from view until the right time. The audience was going nuts on the bridge, and you could see thousands upon thousands of flashing lights from cameras and phones, along with a large screen broadcasting you. You all looked over to the plane door, as Mr. Tressler, Mabry, and Chase all shyly stepped out.
"Man, you should feel pretty good about yourself," Danny told Walter. "You predicted it correctly. The temps, stroke of midnight, New Year's Eve, happy new year."
Mabry ran down the stairs, followed by a spotlight that was being shown on the screen. Immediately, people started "booing" at him, making you laugh.
"Wow, thank you very much London," Danny continued. "We would like to acknowledge not only our old friend Arthur Tressler, but also his young, and very brilliant son, Walter Mabry, who has performed one of the greatest feats of illusion that we have even seen, he has amazingly brought himself back from the dead!"
"But, before he did that," you said, just as Marritt opened his mouth to talk. "He revealed someone that we think, deserves the most proper of introductions."
"He is our friend, and he is our leader," Danny said. "Dylan Shrike!"
As Dylan stepped out from behind you 4, Marritt added "Previously known as FBI agent Dylan Rhodes."
"Get up here!" Jack told Dylan, as he patted him on the back. Dylan walked past Jack, and he stopped at you for a quick second to give you a quick hug, then he walked up to Danny and stood next to him.
"So, normally," Dylan started, and the audience went quiet. "Only the magician, his assistant, and a few trusted stage personnel know the secret to a trick. But tonight, however, in this effect, all of you people around the temps here, and since we're streaming this live, all the people around the world, know everything, while these guys here are left in the dark. So, let's see how closely you were watching our shows."
Jack started walking forward, and stopped right next to you, making your heart start to beat heavily. "Remember when we were playing 'find the lady', and how I said we used bury traps, a few duplicates, and a few plastic switches?" Jack asked the audience, as a film of the trick was broadcasted. "That's how we switched the driver of the truck, which took us to a duplicate hanger, where we used your need to rush, and your fear of being seen to do the work for us."
"So, the airplane, how'd we get it to 'fly'?" you asked.
"With lights, and fans, and rain machines," Danny answered.
"And come basic mechanics to make the plane tilt," you added. "Made it more believable."
"Obviously, this was all reliant on us getting 'caught', but we needed to make sure you would do exactly what we needed you to do when you did catch us," Jack told Mabry.
Marritt walked up to you and Jack. "My brother Chase, who was the technical adviser for the losing side, he taught us it was all about blindspots," he explained, as he grasped Jack's shoulder. "And, surprises," he started walking over to his brother. "You see, that incident at the bar, where Jack 'tried' hypnotizing you and it didn't work, well, he wasn't trying to. He just tried to make it seem like he couldn't hypnotize you."
Chase looked astounded and confused.
"The hobo you ran into when Marritt was on his way to the temps," Jack explained. "That was me."
"If all of this is kind of confusing to you, I can kinda catch you up later. Probably see you, what, 3 to 5?" He held out his fist for a bro fist, but once Chase's fist was centimeters away, Marritt gave Chase a nut-tap, making almost everyone in the temps laugh, as Marritt headed back over you the wing of the plane.
"Basically we showed them everything," Jack said. "How you kidnapped us, to steal the very thing that's in your pocket right now."
Mabry's face showed a look of horror, as he reached into his pocket, only to find nothing there. He looked at you 5, and Danny showed him the stick.
"You know, this thing here, which you said could adjust markets, manipulate governments, and spy on whomever you choose," Marritt said.
"You could also, as you said, 'control the public from outside the grid'," you added. "What made you think that you'd get away with that?!"
"These men, destroy peoples lives," Dylan said. "Robbing you of your right to privacy, and they do it while hiding in the dark. So, in the Horsemen tradition, we are here to expose them. Tonight, like all of us, they are finally stepping into the light. But we're not done here yet," Dylan motioned for everyone to look at the matted floor of the barge, and you jumped down from the wing onto the mat, to meet with Li, who threw a very confused Brent in front of everyone. It was 2 minutes until midnight.
"This man here," you said. "Is a liar, a rapist, and a sexual abuser, who almost killed me months ago, and he would've succeeded, if it weren't for Jack up there," you motioned back up to the wing. "When I joined the Horsemen, I vowed that I'd take you down, and now you're here, being seen as you truly are."
Brent started approaching you, but you snapped with both hands, and 4 chains and cuffs attached themselves to each of Brent's limbs. He looked at you in sheer anger, and you held up a set of keys.
"These keys will unlock you," you explained, as you tossed them to the other side of the mat. "When the police come and arrest you." You turned back to the crowd. "This man, has abused 10 different women, 2 of which were killed by him, and 1 committed suicide because of him. No other woman will be treated in that manor by this man ever again." All the women around the temps started cheering, as you made your way back to the wing.
The 5 of you waved to the crowd, and pulled together into a group hug. As you all pulled away, the countdown from 15 began, and Jack pulled you aside.
"So, this surprise," he began.
"I think you already know," you answered.
5, 4, 3,
"Happy New Year, Jack," you said. Suddenly, fireworks started going off, as Big Ben struck midnight.
"Happy New Year beautiful," Jack said, as his lips crashed into yours, and it felt like fireworks went off throughout your body.
You noted how they were slightly chapped from the dry air, causing a rough friction against yours. You grabbed the collar of his coat, as his arms wrapped around your waist. You moved your hands up onto the back of his neck, and into the surprisingly-soft hair on the back of his head.
"My ship is officially an OTP," you heard Marritt say from the other side of the wing.
Your lips separated themselves from Jack's so you could laugh. You 2 walked back over to the others, and pulled into another group hug, as the police boats arrived. You all released yourselves as the barge was invaded, and, with you and Jack hand in hand, the Five Horsemen disappeared into the night.
