It was a stormy day in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The waves were so choppy that no boats were out... All except for one. On its deck stood two men, looking as if they had some important purpose for being there.

"This doesn't make any sense." An old man with a gruff voice muttered to himself as he glanced out at the sea. "My equipment definitely detected something off around here..." He tapped on the screen of the device he was holding a few times, then sighed.

"Are you saying we came all the way out here for nothing?" Another old man, the first's twin, walked over, seeming a little confused.

"Well, not for nothing," the first said, laughing a little. "I mean, we're sailing around the world together, aren't we? The way we wanted to when we were kids?" He shoved the device into his bag. "Come on, Stanley. Let's try to have some fun while we're out here. We can't go back to Gravity Falls without a good story to tell."

Stan grinned. "You said it, Poindexter! Come on! Don't we have adventure and babes to get to?"

The twins walked away, laughing off their worries. There was nothing abnormal. It was just an error with the machine. After all, the rift closed as soon as Bill was destroyed. An abnormality, and one halfway across the world, at that? Logically speaking, it was impossible.

But logic isn't the same in all universes.

So as the Pines twins went about their adventure without a care in the world, the rift in the sea below them started to expand...

Slowly...

Slowly...

"Mabel, would you please stop running around? I'm trying to pack." Dipper huffed angrily at his sister, who was jumping, skipping, and running around the house like a maniac. "What's with all of this energy?"

"You know why!" Mabel screamed, doing a leap as she passed him. "We're going back to Gravity Falls! We'll get to see Candy and Grenda and our Grunkles and Wendy and Robbie and-"

Mabel would have liked to continue, but there was a hand over her mouth. "We visit Gravity Falls every summer, Mabel," Dipper laughed, tilting his head a little. The twins had gone back to Oregon every year; it had been three years since their first summer there. "Why you get so excited every time is beyond me."

"Oh, come on!" Mabel complained, shoving her brother's hand away. "You're excited, too! Maybe even more than I am! Don't even try to deny it!" The look in her eyes was so serious that it made Dipper burst out laughing.

"Okay, fine," he admitted. "I'm really excited, too. But I have the decency to keep it in instead of screaming so loudly that our friends back in Oregon could hear."

"Pssh, whatever," Mabel huffed, her eyes sparkling. "Oh! By the way, I was thinking that we should bring our instruments this year. That way, maybe you could arrange for a week or two of outside practice."

"That's actually... really smart," Dipper said, surprised. As soon as he and his sister entered high school, Dipper had joined marching band, where he marched tuba, and Mabel joined concert band (under her brother's nagging) as a flute. Dipper had to leave Gravity Falls a month early to go to Band Camp... But maybe his sister's plan would work.

"Duh! Everything I say is smart!" Mabel laughed, making Dipper laugh as well. "I hope that the T.V. stations have been updated," she continued. "I want to watch DCI Finals. The Cavaliers are so going to win!"

"Uh, no, the Bluecoats are."

"Cavaliers!"

"Bluecoats!"

"They haven't had a good show since Tilt!"

"Excuse me? Like the Cavaliers have had a decent show since Frameworks!"

The twins carried on their sibling bickering, only jokingly insulting the other's favorite Drum Corps. By the end of the argument, they agreed that both Corps were good and decided to watch their past shows on YouTube. It was a great day for the Pines twins, and the next would be even better; within the next 24 hours, they would be back in the place they'd come to love: Gravity Falls.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, the rift had grown in size. And whatever was on the other side just happened to notice its existence...

A/N: I'm sorry about the shortness of this first chapter! Since it IS the prologue, I couldn't really get further than introductions, but don't worry; all the other chapters will definitely have a bit more to them than this. They'll be actual... You know, chapters. Also, I want to determine the popularity of this before I get too into writing it. So leave your feedback, please!

Also, in case I got too band-y back there, here's a quick explanation: DCI is short for Drum Corps International. A Drum Corps (pronounced core) is a lot like a marching band, but there are no woodwind instruments, only brass, battery, pit, and color guard. They're insanely hard to get into... You have to basically be a perfect marcher and player to make it past auditions. The Cavaliers and Bluecoats are two big-name corps that make it to the World Championships more often than not. If you haven't watched any of their shows, you need to. In fact, here:

Bluecoats: Tilt

Cavaliers: Frameworks (they're my dream corps, but it's a guys only corps... *sigh*)

So??? Aren't they AMAZING????

*ahem*

Anyway, thank you so much for reading! I have big plans for where this book is headed, so I'll be sure to update again soon!
