"Leo?"
He stood in the tiny kitchen like a dear caught in headlights, a sharp butchers knife in his right hand, Sarah's diary in his left.
Leo and Sarah both stared at each other for the longest time, calculating what to do next. But Sarah couldn't help to think of all the days when we were still happily together, and what he has become now.
He smiled at her with a sadistic face, unmoving.
"L-leo what are you doing?" Sarah stuttered, putting her hands up in front of her, as if it was going to protect her.
Leo looked down at the knife and twisted it around in his hands, as if testing out its sharpness. He looked back up and smiled again.
"I missed you Sarah."
"Leo put the knife down." Sarah warned, remembering her phone in her hand, which Leo eyed. He frowned when she said that.
"Don't tell me what to do," Leo snarled at her, taking little steps closer.
Sarah's heart was beating a hundred beats per second. She cautiously took steps back but tripped over the door frame of her apartment door. Go figure. She landed hard on her behind as a small gasp of pain left her lips, and her phone fell out of her hand and slid over under a table. Looking back up, she connected eyes with Leo, dark grey orbs that were full of determination.
Her phone was her last hope.
She crawled back into the apartment, farther away from Leo but away from the door as well. Quickly she searched for her phone, and when her hand finally grasped it, she typed in her speed dial for emergencies, slamming it back under the table when Leo came closer.
"Why are you doing this?" She stalled.
Leo stopped in his tracks.
"Sarah I still love you," He stared straight into her eyes, "I loved you ever since the day I laid my eyes on you."
"It's not the same anymore Leo. We were kids," Sarah said, slowly crawling backwards to the window. When she got close enough, she looked behind her back to see the red and blue lights coming towards the apartment complex. Just a few more minutes of stalling.
"You never loved me back," He looked away in the distance, "You never felt the same way I did. Hurt; alone. I gave my heart to you and you threw it away. You went and loved somebody else when I loved you. I thought you loved me back."
"We can still change that Leo. I'll run away with you. We can be together." Sarah pleaded.
"It's too late for that now my love. You will never truly be mine."
He looked back down at the knife, gripping it tightly.
"And if I can't have you, nobody can."
Sarah's heart constricted and she closed her eyes. She thought of her family. Adriana. How she had so many dreams only to have it ruined at a young age. She thought of everything in her life in the span of seconds before she opened them again to see Leo only a metre away.
Goodbye cruel world
"Stop!" The door flew open to reveal officers with their guns pointed at Leo.
He looked at Sarah with a look a betrayal, which was easily replaced with anger. He picked her up like a rag doll and pull the cold metal at her throat.
"If any of you come closer, the girl dies."
"Let the girl go," the officer said, trying to clam Leo down, "let her go and nobody gets hurt."
The arm that was holding Sarah up suddenly tightened around her, like a boa constrictor.
"No! No one will take her away from me again!" Leo exclaimed, his eyes ablaze.
"Sir, it's okay. No one will take her away. Just put her down."
The tension inside the room was strong. Everyone was on their toes and holding their breath to see the scene play out in front of them.

Outside the sidemen were arguing with police officers on why they couldn't go into the apartment. It was seven guys against two officers, as the rest were upstairs. Bill easily got past them and ran up the stairs to the door of the apartment where he saw Sarah being held by someone particularly familiar.
"Leo?"
Everyone's eyes went to the new intruder.
"Bill?"
