"Oh..uh...y..ya," Baekhyun lied.
"2 guys and a girl living in one house?" Her father eyed the three of them.
"Aigooo..yeobo. They're adults now. They can take care of themselves. Besides, Baekhyun's umma entrust him to take care of our Toki," Her mother told him while smiling at Baekhyun.
Just then, Mi Young's grandmother called her father.
"Bong ah! I think the dumplings are almost finishing steaming!" Hee grandmother called up to him.
"Ye, omeoni!" Her father rushed to the kitchen upon hearing his mother.
"Come and settle yourselves in. Baekhyun, come and join us for dinner," Her mother offered him to stay.
"That's okay, ajumeoni. I think my family is waiting for me at home. Maybe next time," Baekhyun smiled.
"Okay. Make sure you come with your family ya," Her mother told him.
"Sure. Bye guys! I'll pick you guys up in 3 days time!" Baekhyun reminded them from his car and went off.
Mi Young went straight to her room while her mother showed him to the guest room.
"I'm sorry if the room is quite small," Her mother apologised.
"It's okay ajumeoni. The room looks nice," Luhan smiled and Ace barked as if he agreed.
"Luhan ah, you can just call me umma. I heard from Mi Young that you lost your parents a few years ago. So from now on, treat us as your family," Her mother said to him.
Luhan smiled and said,"Ye..umma."
Her mother ruffled his hair and hugged him while saying,"Make yourself comfortable and come for dinner later, ok?"
He nodded and put his bag aside after she left. Luhan looked out of the window and smell the fresh air. Just then, Mi Young came knocking on the door.
"So how's the room?" She asked.
"I like it," Luhan said.
"That's good. It's used to be my big brother's room," Mi Young told him while sitting at a chair.
"Your big brother's? So is he sleeping in other room?" Luhan asked.
"He's...not here. He died during a car accident," Mi Young said.
Luhan saw the sorrow look in her eyes and saw tears started to come out from her eyes.
"Mi Young shii..," Luhan muttered.
Ace who understood the situation, quickly went to her and tried to comfort her. As soon as she saw Ace, she smiled and quickly wiped her tears. After that, she stood up and said,"I think I'd better help mother with the dinner. I'll see you during dinner time."
After she said that, she walked out of the door and act as if nothing happened. Luhan just watched her walking off and ruffled Ace's fur, knowing that she's still sad about her brother's sudden death.
After a while, Luhan went out of his room and walked towards the kitchen. He saw several members of her family helping out. Mi Young's mother saw him and asked him to come over.
"Luhan ah, hand me that cabbage from that basin and put them into here," Her mother asked for help.
Luhan went to get it for her and helped her out. Mi Young was helping mixing the cabbage with her cousin, Seyong. Luhan saw how amicable they were which made him rather...jealous for some reason. Seyong saw him putting the cabbages into where she and him were and decided to ask him to join them after he finished putting them in.
"So you're Mi Young's classmate?" Seyong asked him.
"Uh yeah," Luhan said briefly.
"By the way, I'm Seyong, Mi Young's precious cousin," Seyong wriggled his eyebrow towards her while she just rolled her eyeballs at his joke.
Luhan gave a slight nod and a small smile.
"So how is she in her class? Is she talkative?" Seyong teased her.
"Talkative? Do I look talkative?" Mi Young glared at him.
Seyong nodded micheviously.
"Yah! Since when am I talkative?" She nudged him with her elbow.
"Since...today?" Seyong teased and laughed.
"Yah!" She wanted to slap his back but he quickly avoided it.
"You can't slap me! I'm now quicker than you! Hahahaha!" Seyong laughed while trying to get away.
"Come back here! We need to mix these!" Mi Young shouted but he just stuck his tongue and ran off.
"Annoying cousin..sheesh," She felt irritated.
In the end, only her and Luhan mixed the cabbage with the mixed chilli paste. They went quiet for a few minutes. After a brief moments,
"Am I talkative?" Mi Young asked him suddenly.
Luhan looked up and looked behind and at his sides to see who she's talking to.
"You're talking to me?" Luhan pointed to himself.
"Well..ya. Is there anyone else I'm talking to here?" She asked.
"No," Luhan felt embarrassed.
"No as in "no" people here or "no" I'm not talkative..?" She asked him.
"No with both," Luhan said.
"At least someone disagrees," Mi Young felt relieved.
"So what did you usually do with your family during chuseok day?" Luhan asked.
"We usually gather together and eat delicious food and playing some games. You haven't experience any of that..?" Mi Young asked him back.
"...Not that I can remember...," Luhan tried to reminisce back but nothing came to mind.
Mi Young looked at him with bewildered eyes. Then Seyong came skipping over to them.
"I'm back~," Seyong sang a tune and smiled, while sitting in between the both of them.
As soon as he sat down, she stood up and washed her hands.
"Hey! Why are you going away when I just got here?" Seyong pouted.
"Luhan shii, lets go. We have a lot of things to do back there," Mi Young said while trying to carry the kimchi.
Luhan went to help her out. After that, Mi Young pulled his arm while stuck a tongue towards Seyong and brought Luhan to the store which left Seyong dumbfounded.
