Nicole's POV

Walking toward the auditorium was so nerve racking. I had a feeling that because of my parents being such great assassins I would get a horribly challenging task. People trickled into the room at a fairly slow pace. It was about 5 minutes until the ceremony was to start. Sadie sat beside me looking calm and relaxed. Of corsage she's relaxed, I thought, shes not the one getting her task, I am.

"Hello everyone, welcome to September 2016's Annual Task Ceremony, today we have 6 tasks to be given out" the old high counsel lady exclaimed into the microphone in front of her, "We will do youngest to oldest order!" Of corse they would pick the order where I was last.

"First up is Martan Fligewits" she announced again. The tall, muscular boy every one adored waked up to get his task. handing him and envelope another guy on the council said "Your task will be to kill a man who is suspected of murder. We expect you back within 2 weeks time, good luck brother of the alliance!" Everyone ceremonially held our fists in the air. I never understood why that was our symbol of luck until I realized it symbolized someone holding a knife above their head about to kill.

"Next we have Mary Minale" the woman exclaimed. I zoned out and lost myself in my own thoughts. I was so worried about my task. How long would I be gone? Who would I have to kill? How would I meet them? It was very questionable now, my life about to change in the hands of the council. I would have to take my parents place and run the council soon. Then I felt an elbow hard in my side.

"Your next Niki" I looked over at Sadie as she said the words I was dreading all day.

"Nicole Jordan" the woman announced, clearly glad she was on the last name.

"Nicole's task is to kill Trey Salik" as the council man spoke the name the room silenced.

"You have got to kidding" Sadie shouted out from her seat.

"We are certainly not kidding, we think Nicole can handle it" the man replied to her.

"It's ok Sadie, I just have to kill the most loved boy singer in the would" I replied sarcastically and in shock. I was handed the large, yellow envelope every one was given before THE TASK.

I went back to my seat, hands shaking unable to walk out of the auditorium yet. Would i succeed? I thought. Would i complete my task? People from all over the world adored this boy. I would be hunted down. I would be sought out, maybe killed. Sadie sees the nervousness in my eyes. "You'll do great," she says, as if assuring herself more than me. I nod. I think about if i failed. I would let down the whole alliance. I would dishonor the family name. My parents were the greatest assasins of all time. Failing was not an option due to the result, no one wanted to go through that. Pushing the thought out of my head I stood up to leave. Everyone stood up too and held fists in the air. Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I held my hand up in solute of the other assassins in the room. I stepped out and went to the waiting black van, opening the envelope I found a plane ticket to Britain and another envelope that read:

Do not open until alone in hotel in Britain

This message made me scared, was the info inside really that important. I sat tired and feeling more alone then ever. Once at the airport I went through a secret security line where the Assassins Alliance had spies that lead us through along with letting us pick up our weapons. I grabbed the weapons bag waiting for me and went to board the plane. After boarding I sat in my seat and slowly slipped into a dreamless sleep.
