OFG Project 1

Chapter 1

I stared at the reflection of myself in the mirror,holding a white tee shirt on my right hand.I looked fairly average,I was tall,fair and had a very casual hairstyle except for the fact that I had one chunk of hair hiding my right eye.Anyways,it was nothing much to raise my self-esteem.I'm single,and I don't plan to have a partner anytime soon.Besides,I was a loner.Back of the class loser who was awkward in conversations with nothing interesting to talk about,nothing I had going on anyways.I wore jeans and a white shirt - my wardrobe was full of the same white shirts and jeans - and a black shoe to match, which was fairly unstylish and made me all the more unnoticeable.

I sighed and put on my shirt before grabbing my bag and going to school.Wearing my clothes and packing my bag with the stuff I need for the day before walking off to school was basically my daily routine.And on days where I had no school,I'd stay at home to draw or find something to do for the rest of the day after finishing the homework my teachers give me.

"What a pain." I said half sighing as I walked under the blistering sun on the pavement.Several other houses followed in line,the usual boring sight I see every day.I wiped off a drop of sweat off the tip of my nose and pulled down my undersized shirt which showed a bit of skin just above the belt.I'm rather conscious about showing skin despite being a boy,because of a certain incident in the first few months of the school year.

I reached the public bus-stop,the other students I recognise who were going to the same school as I am -not that I remember their names - stared at me as if I was some sort of extraterrestrial being that fell from the sky,an alien to put it simply.I could hear a few giggles here and there and whispers about me.I blocked them out as I waited for the bus as I usually do and got on without a word,quickly choosing the first seat I see that's empty.This time, I sat next to a girl who had scarlet hair that cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall and big eyes which seemed to balance out with her slightly revealing clothing.And due to my height, all I needed to do was to look at her face to get a good amount of cleavage,but I wasn't interested in someone who seemed the popular type.I looked out the window instead,watching the small houses go by and counting a number of times I've yawned within the past few minutes.Will I get a partner?Will I ever have a fun life?

"Hey,"A voice of a girl breaks my thoughts,"Hey!"

"What?"I answered lazily,looking at the direction of the voice,I ended up staring at my seat partner.

"Pathetic,no wonder you're a loner,you can't even answer a girl properly."She says in turn,raising an eyebrow at me."I bet you don't even have a relationship with anyone!"

"Yeah,thanks for pointing out the obvious.You don't have to be a bitch about it."I mumbled that last part.

"Huh?What did you say?!"

"NOTHING!Anyways what the hell-"I felt a few pairs of eyes staring at me and lowered down my tone."what the hell do you want in the first place?!"

"Have you heard about the recent killings around our neighbourhood?"She questions me. Hahaha wow.She's actually worried about that?

"You disturb and insult me just to talk to me about the news rep-"

"Just shut up and listen!There is a dangerous group of people who can use magic at night.Do not stay up late."She cuts cleanly across my words.What the hell is this nonsense?!

"Huh?Magic?Do you think I'm some sort of idiot or something?"

"Exactly!Don't say I didn't warn you!"

"Wha-are you crazy?"I immediately regret saying that and receive a hard slap to the face with a backhand.I can't believe she took the trouble of standing up just to do that.

The echoes of the sharp impact travel across the bus and several heads turn.Even more whispers.

"Ooh...is that a lovers' quarrel I see?"The person in front of me says towards his friend,

"Nah that's impossible.That hot red head and that lame kid?Hah!"

"Yeah you're right"He agrees with a snicker,"he probably said something weird or perverted."

"But damn is she hot."

These bastards,they must think I'm deaf or something.I look down to the bus floor to hide my face red with rage,only to get my chin pulled up by a finger,its sharp nail digging into my neck.

The girl leans forward so that her mouth is right beside my ear.

"You either listen to what I say or I report you for sexual harassment"

Seriously?!

"I didn't do shit you - "

This time, she slaps a palm to my mouth and grabs both my cheeks with her four fingers and thumb,silencing me.In return, I grab her hand but the whispers grew,and fearing for my pure boring reputation I let go.

"What I'm telling you is for your own good."She says,looking more relieved now that I'm cooperating,or rather,I didn't have a choice.

"Here,take this..."She says as she slips something shiny into my pocket."Keep it with you at all times,and don't ever lose it."

I nod reluctantly,her hand still crushing my teeth together.She sat back down,but not before slamming her heels onto my feet.I bend forward in agony.Bloody hell.

Once we reached the school,I walked off the bus,a slight limp in my steps.A rather scruffy boy ran up towards me,his hair was disheveled and he wore messy clothing.He wore a red shirt and green polka dot pattern stained pants that made a strange combination,accompanied by a weird looking hat with patterns of...fish?Well anyways,I guess you could call him a "friend" of mine.We were both loners so we just sort of...got what was left on the plate and now we're together.

"Aedan!"He waved violently,as if he was drowning and struggling to stay above water.He noticed my limp,"Woah what happened to you?Did you slip on a fish on the way here?"He laughed at his joke,unfortunately it was one of the best jokes he had ever made.

"Jack?Well...I had some rather unpleasant business with a girl..."I replied in a rough voice.Though we were friends,I wasn't exactly happy to see him.He was annoying,stupid and says things that could easily be turned into rumors about us.He was one of the main reasons why I am still alone today.

"A girl?You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend!"He teased,

"A girlfriend?Impossible,never in my lifetime will I ever have one and that's a fact!"I retorted,"Besides it was just some rude girl on the bus that probably has a few screw loses."I say as a matter of factly.From there,he started spewing nonsense.Eventually the school bell chimed and to my relief,we seperated ways.

Today is going to suck,I'm very sure about that.So I'll just brace myself and hopefully, I'll survive like I usually do.
