You've Got That One Thing

CHAPTER 12

Something was vibrating on me hard, but I couldn’t hear a sound. I moved slightly, but my body felt heavy, it wasn’t responding to me. My ears seemed to pop, and Rihanna blared through my ears. I recognised the song. What was it? My mind seemed to blank. I tried opening my eyes but everything was blacked out. Rihanna was piercing my ears, it was so loud. I came to my senses, it was my ring tone, for my phone. I opened my eyes, everything was blurry and black. I could see a faint orange light emitting from the bottom of the alley. I rubbed my head, the pain was excruciating. It took all the strength I had to sit up, leaning against the wall whilst sat down. My phone had gone silent, but had started again. I groaned, reaching down into my pocket.

Louis is Calling…

I accepted.

‘LUCY?’ Louis shouted, I heard more yelling in the background.

‘What?’ I mumbled, my throat was dry.

‘Where the hell are you? It 1am?’ Katie must have grabbed the phone.

‘I-I don’t know.’ I started crying, I was so confused.

Liam took control.

‘Okay Lucy calm right down. Everything will be fine, we’ll find you and take you back to the house, okay? Have you got any idea where you are?’ His gentle voice soothed me.

‘I’m in an alleyway. Its not far from the café me and Harry where,’ I burst into tears. ’This man, he-’ Everything came flooding back in an instant.

‘Shh, everything’s going to be fine.’ Liam promised.

Shortly after I saw Louis and Liam running towards me from the alley.

‘Oh my god.’ I heard Louis say.

‘Here, help me pick her up.’ Liam ordered, they helped me up, I swayed slightly.

‘I’m fine.’ I whispered, they took me down into a taxi, sitting next to me in the car. Louis put his arm around me.

‘Are you okay? What the hell happened?’ He asked.

‘I… Me and Harry were in a café. A we argued.’ I started.

‘He told us that bit, about how he left you.’ Liam looked angry.

‘What were you on about… a man?’ Louis looked concerned.

‘I didn’t get raped Lou.’ I looked at him.

Liam and Louis looked relieved.

‘I got mugged, and thrown into a wall. That’s why I blacked out.’ I rubbed my forehead.

‘You’ve been missing for about 9 hours!’ Liam put his head in his hands.

‘I feel terrible. Like I’ve ruined the holiday.’ I felt so bad.

‘Don’t be stupid.’ Louis squeezed me lightly, hugging me.

When I got back to the house, everyone was quizzing me about it. I just wanted to talk to Harry, alone, he had sat on the far sofa with his head in his hands. I sat up slowly,

‘I’m going to bed.’ I announced.

‘Do you want me to help you upstairs?’ Zayn asked, worried,

‘I’ll be fine. I’m not a old woman.’ I laughed. I started to go upstairs, I let myself into my room and started to undress into my vest top and PJ bottoms. I felt so tired. Just as I got into bed there was a light tap on my door, Harry walked in.

‘Hey.’ He said, coming and sitting on the edge of my bed.

‘Hey.’ I replied.

‘I feel so bad, we searched everywhere for you. I’m so sorry I left you, I was just so-’ I stopped him, moving over the bed to sit next to him.

‘Its not your fault.’ I looked into his eyes.

His eyes were so beautiful. A light green, one of his curls dropped over his eye, he pushed it away.

‘Anyway. I just wanted to apologise.’ I stood up, quickly, and started to walk out the room. My heart dropped.

‘Will you be okay?’ He asked with a final look.

‘I don’t know. Will you stay with me?’ I pleaded. ‘Just for awhile.’

He sighed, looking down.

‘It doesn’t matter.’ I said sharply, reminding myself I’d hurt him bad.

He closed the door.

‘No, I’ll stay with you.’ He replied, smiling lightly.
