Isabella's (DQ) pov

I was walking down one of the older streets of New York with my prize possession. My sledgehammer. Some people might call me crazy for walking with it out in the open, but they don't walk were I do.

They don't live in this part of town. Here, you either have a worthy weapon or die with nothing. Any of the gang members or neighborhood bullies mess with me or my cousin, I will tare them limb from limb.

She herself can do some major changes to a person's body and it's never pretty. Kellie is more violent then I am. I prefer verbal combat and making the deals that we have, where as she would rather fight now and talk later.

With all the gangs and ,as I like to say, fallen warriors around here these parts, I'm glad to have her. She is probably the only family I have left after my parents died in a car accident and after I accidentally burnt down my old apartment.

As I was walking with me sledgehammer over my shoulder I felt the ground shake under me. I looked around and found not one person on the street just some old newspaper article rolling down the street and and broken street lamp.

Somethings up so either I wait and see what it is or go home and stay out of unnecessary trouble. I chose stay out of trouble. Me and my cousin are already in enough of it.

I slowly take a few steps turd our home then, BOOM. I tern back around to the derection the sound came from and all I see is a billing with the wall crumbled and smoke coming from it.

Seriously not wanting to be part of this I made a run for my house. My feet were hitting the pavement with a simple thumb from my shoe. Then I herd it.

There were footsteps behind me.A bunch of them too. Without looking back I used my hammer to brake through the glass of an abandoned billing and jumped through the hole.

Taking one look back I see fore figures ,it was to quick to get exactly what they looked like. Hearing the glass shader as I ran up the stairs gave me a huge bust of energy.

I did something they might not have expected and ran into a room. I looked around for a window and as soon as I found one that faced the back of the building I climbed out and onto the fire escape.

Taking a small break to catch my breath I listen. I listened to silence that filled the area. Then I here voices and loud footsteps coming up the stairs inside and a door slammed shut.

They don't give up that easy. I ran up the steps that creeked and wobbled as I did. I made it to the roof just as I herd someone jump onto the fire escape.

In a madder of seconds I was three buildings away and only two from my house. Turning to see if they were still fallowing me and I didn't see anything so I slowed down.

Now right on top of my house I go to open the door. As soon as there was a small crack in the door I was tackled down and pined to the ground. I closed my eyes and held back a scream of pain as someone put my hands above my head and tossed my weapon to the side.

"Why you running?" Said a male voice. It was ruff but child like the kind of voice most people would love to here. Not me, at least, not now.

Instead of replying I thrashed around to try and brake loose from there grip but the more I move the tighter it got. I took a deep breath and stopped then slowly opened my eyes to meet with kind baby blue eyes. I smiled and his eyes then looked at the rest of him.

My eyes widen when I see the he has green skin and a shell on his back with a baseball bat. The shell and skin color didn't scare me I've seen worse. But the bat, it had fresh blood on it and that's what scared me.
