(Piper's P.O.V)

Piper can't help but feel like dirt, because Leona's suppose to be her best friend, yet she really don't know ANYTHING about her. They all looked up to see...

*An 5 year old Leona who didn't look very happy. She was wearing an Mexican girl's red and black party dress, with a rose in her shoulder length brown hair. "Mama,why do I have to wear this?" She asked , the signature Spainard accent ever clear in her voice. "Because,mija. Mi prima, Sierra, wanted to have a full Spanish party to show our heritage. We as her family need to respect her wishes." Maya came out wearing a pink and yellow outfit similar to Leona's and Esperanza's . Esperanza was wearing a black and blue one. Esperanza had a blue rose in her hair while Maya had a pink rose.
*Pause flashback*

At the look of Maya, in that outfit, Leona let out another sob, and buried her face into her knees, whispering 'Maya' over and over again.
*play flashback*

"Are we ready?" Maya asked. She looked about 10. Leona straightened, at her sister. "Maya! You look so pretty!" She cried out joyously. "Aw, thank you, joya! " The two girls smiled, each held their mom's hand. 25 minutes later, they arrived at a person's house. "Ah! I forgot my purse." Esperanza said , about to go back.

*Pause flashback*

Lea muffled her sobs, her eyes already burning.

*Play flashback*

"Don't worry, Mama! I can go get it." "YOU AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE!" A gruff voice yelled behind Maya. By now, the rest of the Valdez family came out to see something going down. Esperanza gasped. "Go away, Luis!" The man chuckled darkly. "All right you little tramp, but first, I'm going to take my daughter, Maya, with me!" He pulled the sickly girl's arm. "Let.Maya. Go!" Leona cried throwing a rock at the man. Maya quickly grabbed her sister's hand and they ran, as fast as they could.

Before anyone could say anything, Luis pulled a gun out and pulled the trigger. "No more Maya." The psychotic man whispered before pulling the trigger to his head. "Maya! Please hang on!" Leona pleaded as her sister's eyes slowly began to close. "Lo siento, joya! Can you please sing?" Leona knew it was her sister's time, and she never sang in public, but for Maya, of course. For a 5 year old Leona had the voice that most people wish and trained for their whole lives. She sang her special song that just they knew. (Le song above,Hanging Tree by Jennifer Lawerance) "Adios, mi estella . " Leona whispered , never shedding a tear.

The other seven looked at the sobbing daughter of Heaphaetus. For a minute, the room was silent, except her sobbing. Then Piper got up, and sat next to her best friend. "Leona. Will you please look at me?" Piper felt bad charmspeaking her emotionally unstable friend. Leona did, and looked broken. "What?" Everyone was shocked to hear her speak. "You never shed a tear for your sister, did you?" Leona shook her head. "You know you don't need to bear the weight of her death on you, you know this don't you?" Leona's eyes filled with tears, that followed the path laid out for them. "Why not? I've done so since I was 5." "I know that. But its not healthy."

Leona bit her lip, before leaning on Piper's shoulder. "Pipes, she was only 10! She was just beginning to start life, and it was taken from her." Piper held Leona as she sobbed for her sister. "Its okay. I don't know if I'm right, but I take it Maya was a sickly girl?" Leona nodded into her shirt. "Well, at least she's not suffering anymore, right?" Another nod. "Well,I think she's smiling down from Heaven right at you." A shaky laugh was heard from the Latina. "Do you have anything from her, to keep her with you?" Another nodd. "Well, good. Maybe Hazel can draw a picture of them." Hazel smiled at the idea. Leona said something, but no one caught it. "What'd you say, Leona?" Annabeth asked.

"I have a locket with us, Mama, and Alex in it." "Whose Alex?" Leona suddenly straightened up, blushing a bright red. "No one! Forget I said anything!" Piper was actually thankful for her being a daughter of Aphrodite, she could see Leona loved him. But everyone saw that. "You loved him." "N-No! S-Shut u-up, P-Piper!" It felt good to see Leona happy, again even if it was for a minute. "Hey, the next memory is starting." Hazel said, looking like she didn't want to ruin Leona's mood. The memory then showed a young boy, who looked a lot like Piper. Except he had a side shaved, with a few beads and feathers in his full hair, he was smirking. "Is that Alex?" "N-No!" "Yeah, okay."
