Ian walked out of his house into the frosty, spring air.
It has been 6 months since Ian had saw his best friend, Jake, be shot to death in the school hallway. After he had chased down the man and killed him, to avenge Jake's death, his life had really picked up. With the 15 million he recieved for the bounty on the man's head, Ian had bought a really nice family home for him and his family, in their current town of Cedar Falls. The house only cost $843,000, so Ian had a lot of money left over. He was smart, and put it in a bank account to use for collage, and if he gets in a bind later on.
He walked down the street, going toward Spencer's Grocery. They had helped him in his manhunt for the mysterious man. When he went inside, Spencer noticed almost instanly. "Hey, there's the hero!" he said as he shook Ian's hand. "How have you been, Spencer?" Ian asked.
"Good, and I think I found out who that guy was." Spencer replied. Ian had asked him 2 weeks ago to see if he could find out who the man that he killed really was.
"Sweet!"
Spencer handed him a paper. On it, had 2 pages of information about the man was clearly written.
The man was 35 years old, and lived in Fallsport, a city in Maryland, 250 miles away. He was tall and pretty muscular, and his hair was a brownish-black. He was wanted in Maryland for Child Molestation, Virginia for 2nd Degree Murder, and in Ohio for Grand Theft Auto. His name was John "Big Daddy" Holmes.
"Wow..." Ian said aghast, "...he was a really bad guy, huh?"
"Oh yeah." Spencer agreed, "..you could of saved someone's life by killing him. Sure, he killed someone in Virginia already, along with Jake. But, he might of killed you too. I am just glad you are safe. After all, who is going to buy my Twix bars?"
Ian smiled. He always loved Twix. But, what Spencer said had made sense. What would have stopped "Big Daddy" from killing again? He was already wanted in 3 states, now it would of been 4. He had nothing to lose, except his freedom or, in this case, his life.
After buying a 4-pack of Twix, Ian left. "Thanks again!" he said to Spencer as he walked out onto Hawleaf Rd, and turned left and started walkingtoward Burbank St.
A couple hours later, Ian was geared up and ready to go. His 16 year old friend Marco was taking them to Skate Land Unlimited, a indoor skate park and arcade in Downtown Freeze Point, a town 20 minutes away from Ian's house.
Marco pulled in front of Ian's house, and stepped outside. Marco was tall, and had nice, toned arms. He played football for the Cedar Falls Roughhousers, as a defensive end. He drove a nice, bright blue Pontiac, that had orange flames on the side of it, with the Chicago Bear's Vintage Logo in the center of it all. Marco always dreamed, like Ian, of playing for the Chicago Bears.
"Ready to go, squirt?" he said jokingly.
"Sure am. Nice logo." Ian commented. Even though they lived in New Jersey, the town of Cedar Falls was about 50% Bears fans, 50% Patriots fans, in which Ian never understood. But, he never querstioned it, either. He always thought that was because the Patriots and the Bears were two good teams. So, when the Bears play the Patriots, Cedar Falls is a battleground, the city was split in half.
"Thanks! Had it put on this morning." Marco replied, with a grin on his face. "Those Patriot fans always trash it, but I don't give an owls hoot."
Ian laughed as his mom came out, and gave him $50.
"Use this to pay for your ticket, and for the arcade as well. No food, we will order pizzas when you get back." His mom said, and kissed Ian on the cheek. She then went back inside.
"Now, you ready?" Ian asked.
"Well, sure, let's go." Marco said and hopped into his Chicago Bear Pride Pontiac. Ian got in the passanger side. Marco had the rap music up pretty high, but Ian did not mind. He just sat there, listening, wondering how the day would turn out. He hoped it would end good.
But, he had a bad feeling that his day would not end good.
Something is going to happen, Ian thought, But what?
