"There he is...." Kelly quietly mentioned shifting her eyes done the nearly empty hallway and away from her locker.

"There who is?" you asked her confused though just as quietly trading books from your designated storage space for the next class of the day.

Just as soon as the words left your mouth you suddenly realized who she was referring to making you instantly regret every confessing your deepest secret to her. While her voice had been quiet enough so only you could hear the sound of teasing and excitement had still be present on her words.

Shifting your eyes as well, you saw Jonathan messing with the bulletin board surely hanging another poster for his missing brother. Watching him fiddle with his bag and the paper in his hand your heart sank feeling a mild heart break for the boy you hardly knew but admired so much. He was quiet but gentle from what you could tell. Never bothering to branch out and speak to his peers. While he enjoyed camera work and taking pictures you could never bring yourself to ask him about it. He was definitely considered an outcast though he always managed to make you nervous just by being present in the same room.

"Go talk to him." Kelly pressed shifting her eyes back to you while pretending to be busy with her locker.

"What?" you asked in shock knowing full well your awkward self did not have enough courage to just go up and talk to a guy. "No way. What would I even say..."

"Ask him about his camera." she suggested. "He literally always has it on him."

"I mean I gues...shhh." you quickly stopped your words and kept your eyes starring into your locker.

He wasted no time hanging the depressing poster up for all to see as he walked down the hallway toward where your locker had been. His head was done though his eyes shifted up almost hidden by his brown almost dark blonde bangs looking determined and a bit stressed out. The closer he came the more you felt your courage lower until it was basically non-existent while your hands slightly shook from how close he was just passing by.

"Hello, Jonathan!" Kelly said rather loudly in her usual cheerleader pep voice that always made your head want to explode. You had nothing against the cheer-leading squad but the voices and loudness were sometimes too much.

"Oh..Hi." he replied in his usual soft voice that you only had heard from afar. Your heart fluttered at the sound as your heard his footsteps continue to walk forward no even bothering to stop. His two words that you heard so clearly would be enough to keep you on cloud nine all week.

"Your dreamy face is starting to frighten me." Kelly commented snapping you from your thoughts and making you look directly at her.

She wore a smug smile on her glossed lips that made you feel even more embarrassed. She had been pressing you to speak with him for over two weeks and you have made zero progress.

"I don't have a drea...sorry." you apologized sighing deeply as you closed your locker door and re-fastened the lock.

"Do you want me to break the ice or something?" she offered trying desperately to help you even though just the thought of any progress being made brought a faint blush to your cheeks. "I'll just go into that room he develops pictures in and start a conversation with him. No one will be around so it'll be alright."

"Well..." you thought for a moment about her offer. You could either tell her no and let things continue the way that had been going or tell her yet and roll the dice hopefully for a better future. Your heart pounded thinking about all of the negative things that could happen with the worst being he hated you. The embarrassment and heart break would be too much to handle. Though, on the other hand, there was always the small percent chance that he would be interested which was all you ever dreamed about. "Okay."

"R-really?" Kelly asked for confirmation with some shock her in voice. She leaned away from her locker and folded her arms with a small smile forming on her face.

"Yeah...just try to make me look good okay?" you said again giving her the go-ahead to speak to Jonathan.

Kelly patted you on the shoulder and began walking in the direction he had just gone knowing he would already be developing whatever pictures he had taken recently. Your heart pounded though a feeling of worry took over thinking maybe your confession would be coming at a bad time. His brother had only gone missing two days ago and you were sure he had more on his mind than a silly romance. But before you had a chance to change your mind Kelly was already out of sight ready to basically confess your well kept secret.

Walking away from your locker and in the direction of your next class you sighed heavily again praying to anyone who would listen that this would work out in your favor or else you would never feel confident enough to show your face in school again.
