The birds in the trees
Oh, how loud they can tweet
Talking over one another
Like all the problems we come to meetThe world causes problems
And troubles and pain
Pushing us around
Confusion pulsing through our veinsHow can we overcome
The trials that plague us?
Sometimes I have to tell myself
"Press forward. Oh, you must."Sometimes that's all we need
A sign to mark the path
To guide us in the right way
So we won't encounter the world's wrathYou never know
The troubles that lie inside
They could be smiling
And you never know what hides behindPain, sorrow, and sickness too
Anxiety, depression, and confusion
All these trials
Can inflict quite some delusionThey can pull you from your path
And cause you to stray
Sometimes people don't even notice
And they won't, if you don't sayShare your problems
Let them know
Tell somebody
Before the problem growsIt will pass
And you'll be happy once more
If you ignore the world's temptations
And see the blessings galoreSitting in these trees
Lifts the problems off of me
It helps me think clearly
And now I can seeThe gifts that have been given
Here on Earth for us
So I tell myself
"Just press forward, oh yes, you must."
