The window next to my bed was always covered with a blanket. My mother did this to keep out the cold. In the summer, she didn't bug me about putting the blanket on the window. I really wish she had.One night, I fell asleep in my room while everyone slept in the living room due to the heat. I woke up early in the morning, before the sun has started to rise and it was still dark. My eyes opened and I looked out the window. I saw my familiar back yard. I saw the unfamiliar face.
A man's face was right up against the glass window. His breaths fogged the glass. His wide black eyes stared at me. His horrifying smile showed his rotten teeth.
I closed my eyes. I knew that one scream was all it took to wake my parents up, and they would be in my room in no time. The man could not hurt me. I lost my voice. I couldn't scream. I could just sit there and let him watch me.
I shut my eyes tightly and counted to twenty. In twenty seconds, I would look again. I would scream if I saw him there. 1, 2, 3. He started to laugh. It was low and it made the hair on the back of my neck stand. 6, 7, 8. He spoke silently, just loud enough for me to hear him. "I saw you."
I screamed. I screamed so loud I'm sure the neighbors across the street heard me. I hurt my own eardrums when I screamed. No matter how loud I screamed, the man's laughter was stronger. "Mom! Dad! Help!"
I watched the man leave my backyard through the small path that lead to the front yard. I jumped and ran to the living room. What if he was at the front door? He would be able to see my family from the front door. I assured myself he couldn't harm them.
I entered the living room screaming like a mad man. My screams fell silent when I saw the sight. My parents were dead. The sea of blood was all over the living room floor. The brother's head was in the middle of all the blood. Just his head. His body was somewhere mixed in with the rest of body parts. I felt myself grow sick.
The front door opened. The man entered with a smile. He looked at the blood and laughed. That fucking laugh. My tear filled eyes widened as I ran for the kitchen.
I didn't hear any footsteps coming towards me. I didn't hear anything except laughter and screams coming from the living room. That man was laughing. I could hear the splashing of the blood as he man walked around in it.
When the police arrived, he was still laughing. The police tell me he was dancing around with my mother's arms. I saw him as he was taken away by police. His clothes were tattered. His teeth were stained red. A look of insanity never left his eyes. I remember what he said to me. In a sing song voice, he said, "I'll see you."
