Isabella walked across the street, and past the gate into Phineas's backyard, and said, "Hey, Phineas, what'cha doin?" Phineas replied, "So, last night Ferb and I were watching TV, and in the movie we were watching, someone had the ability to read minds! Ferb and I thought that was cool, so we decided to make our own."
Phineas brandished an odd looking helmet, and proclaimed, "While you wear this, you'll be able to read other people's minds."
A collective "Whoah," followed from Isabella, and Buford and Baljeet, who had just arrived. "Come on, then, let's test it out," said Phineas, "Also, where's Perry?"
Perry had ducked behind the house, and jumped down a chute into his lair. He landed in his chair, and turned on the screen. "Good morning, Agent P. We have intel that Dr. Doofinschhirtz has been gather parts to build another inator. Go put a stop to it before it gets out of hand."
Perry saluted Major Monogram, strapped on his jet pack, and then flew off. He dropkicked through the wall and landed in front of Dr. Doofinschmirtz. Before he could make a move, a chute opened up beneath him.
Meanwhile, Phineas had put on his helmet. "Okay guys, I'm going to start testing it out. Who wants to have their mind read first!" Buford quickly volunteered, and asked, "So, what am I thinking about right now?" Phineas correctly responded, "You're consciously thinking about cheeseburgers, but you are also thinking about Gretchen, who you have a small crush on! Wow!" Buford blushed, and quickly said, "Okay, Baljeet goes now!"
Phineas then directed his helmet's beam st Baljeet, and said, "Okay, so, you want school to start, you have a crush on Ginger, and you currently want to me to stop reading your mind. Fair enough. Your turn, Isabella!"
Isabella blushed and said, "Oh, um, maybe it's not necessary to read my-" Phineas directed his helmet's beam at her.
Dr. Doofinschmirtz walked over to the chute and said, "Hello there, Perry the platypus. I seen you've FALLEN for my pit trap. Get it? Now, down to business. You see here, I just made a rudeinator. When I fire it at my brother Roger, the mayor, he will turn so bad-mannered and rude, into lying coward who wants everyone to hate him, and then everyone will hate him, and make me tri-governor instead! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll just press this button that causes it to fire."
As Dr. Doofinschmirtz walked towards the rudeinator, Perry sprang from the pit and lunges toward it. However, he missed the self destruct button and instead caused the rudeinator to fire a green beam in a completely different direction by knocking Dr. Doofinschmirtz out of the way and then accidentally pushing the fire button. He then turned around and pressed the self destruct button, causing the rudeinator to explode.
Phineas read all of Isabella's thoughts, then stared blankly at her. "You-You-You-You...like me? You came to my backyard every day just to see what I was doing? You want..to kiss me? Gosh, I had no idea!"
Isabella nervously looked at the ground, and said, "Well now that you know, I want to know, do you have feelings for me?" Before Phineas could respond, a green beam came from the sky and hit him. "Phineas?" Isabella asked.
Phineas turned around and glared at Isabella. "Why would I have feelings for you. Every day, you just walk over and annoy me and try to distract me from my inventions. I hate it! I can't believe that I didn't just tell you to go away. Don't ever come back here, you annoying brat."
Horrified and on the verge of tears, Isabella fled Phineas's yard, sobbing. She ran into her bedroom, and slammed the door shut. She then curled up on her bed, cried, and tried to forget what just happened. "Isa? What's wrong, honey?" Isabella's mom called from downstairs. Isabella didn't reply, and continued to cry, lamenting on how all this time, while she had harbored a huge crush on Phineas, he had an equally strong hatred.
