I run as fast as I can into the forest. All that's on my mind is getting away from him. If he finds me, I'm as good as dead. My lungs burn from lack of oxygen and my feet ache, yet I know I can not stop. I've been running all night, but it still isn't long enough. No amount of time or distance will ever be enough. He is out for blood. My blood.

After running for hours, I realize I must stop as exhaustion sets in. Stopping by the nearest tree, I sit down to rest. I wasn't planning on stopping for long, but I don't have the energy to get back up. I haven't eaten in days, and my mouth is as dry as the desert in the middle of July. Before I know it, I fall asleep sitting there under the shade of the tree.

I wake to the sound of leaves crunching. Worried it might be rouges, I get up and run. Though I myself am human, I know all about werewolves. I know about alphas and packs. I know about mates and rouges. Most importantly, I know not to get on a werewolf's bad side.

I run through the forest on shaky legs knowing I'm most likely going to die out here. However, anything is better than being with him.

I stop, thinking whatever I heard is no longer chasing me, and I sit down. Suddenly, out jumps a giant brown and white wolf. I cower back away from the danger.

"Please, don't hurt me," I manage to stutter. The wolf, actually werewolf, doesn't seem to be going along with my request. It growls and shows its fangs. The wolf runs at me and takes its claws down my back. I back away from the wolf, biting my lip to stop my cries of pain. I'm quite used to pain by now.

Trying to be brave, I remember what my mom taught me when I was nine. As it runs at me, I jump to the right just before it hits me. I grasp it's ear with my right hand and pinch with all of my strength. I, then, pull its head and bring it down on my knee with as much strength as I can muster. The wolf growled in pain. Without letting go of its ear, I kick its soft stomach with my foot.

The wolf jerks back. At this moment, I turn and run. I know I won't be able to out run a wolf, but I also can not fight one. The wolf chases after me, and I push myself to go faster. Suddenly, the wolf stops. For a second, I'm confused. Why would it stop chasing me? Suddenly It hits me, I crossed into a pack territory. Realizing this, I decide to head deeper into the territory. Rouges can not enter, however I, being human, am no threat and should be ignored. I lay down next to a tree and try to look at my back. However, I can't see it. I just let the blood soak through my shirt. My last thought before I fall asleep is, "Maybe I'll be dead by morning."
