CHARLOTTE SANGSTER'S LIFE IS A MESS and she knows it. Her mum knows it, her owl knows it, her friends know it—Merlin, she thinks even Cornelius Fudge knows it. That's probably why he looked so nervous when he made his routine house visit just before the school year began to report to her and her mother that no progress has been made in the case of her father's disappearance. Lottie found this amusing as it had been four years with practically no leads, so it wasn't exactly shocking news. Fudge is just a stupid prat.
Upon arriving at Hogwarts for what she hopes will be a normal year with her best friends, she is instead met with dementors roaming around school grounds and fear over the escape of Azkaban Prisoner Sirius Black (she should've known ever since Harry arrived that there would no longer be such a thing as a normal school year). Granted, it's better than a basilisk petrifying her best friend and roommate, Audra—but still. She doesn't need this kind of stress in her life. OWLs are bad enough!
And on top of everything, her lifelong best friend Fred Weasley is starting to seem less boyish and more...boyfriend material?
Merlin help her if she's going to survive this year.
