I lay down in my bed. I turn and look at the clock, 11:36. My heart still pounds from my day. I think about how thick the thread must be between Marc and me. My heart flutters and I start yelling at myself inside my head. "Stop it! You don't even know anything about this boy! Other than he is extremely attractive, and that smile.." I roll my eyes and turn on my alarm. I steady my breathing, and drift to sleep.

Marc and I are sitting in class, and smile over at him. I tilt my head toward the door. He nods. I get up and walk out of the room, not being noticed by anyone. I lean up against the wall. I prop my foot up against the wall and he walks out of the class, walking towards me. He places his hand on my back and pulls me closer. My heart thuds against my chest, and I look up at him. He leans down. My heart stops. He closes his eyes. I'm afraid, he can hear my heart beating against him. I tilt my head. I stand on my toes. One inch. Half inch. Quarter inch. Heart pounding. His scent is strong, but pleasant. A ringing shrieks through my dream, His face blurs from my imagination and I open my eyes. I'm looking out my open window. It's still dark. I sit up and tap my alarm before it wakes my aunt up. I place my feet against the floor and and stretch. I hurry and run out my door, not caring if I wake her up. I throw open the bathroom door and take a quick shower. I wrap myself in my robe, and I walk out the bathroom door. Being a little more considerate of my aunt. I open my closet door and try to find something to wear. I decide upon skinny jeans, and a jacket. I pull on my Chuck Taylor high-tops and grab a hairbrush. I quickly pull it through my tangled hair. I pick up a makeup brush, but put it right back down. I grab my phone off its charger and start playing Pierce the Veil. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and gallop down the stairs. My aunt's eyes grow wide as she see's me and smiles. "Do you want breakfast? Coffee?" I shake my head and place my hand on the door nob. "Are you leaving already?" She asks. I glance at my phone and realize it's only 5:20. "Just going to take a walk before school." I say. "Goodbye!" She says as I pull the door open. The wind is blowing strong. The sun is just visible over the rooftops of my neighbor's houses. I start to walk towards the school, but turn around and head for the meadow. The sun shines in my hair and I take a deep breath. The aroma of the neighbors lillie's sprouting meets my nose. I smile and turn off my music. My footsteps stomping against the pavement is the only sound. I make my way through the meadow and into the little patch of woods. I set my backpack down next to the trunk of the tree and I start to climb. When I reach my branch I sit and there is a note. I make myself comfortable and then cautiously, open it up. The messy handwriting says,

"Hey, I don't know if you'll get this or not.. I hope so.. I just wanted to say that I had an amazing time hanging out with you yesterday. I was kinda wondering if we could possibly do it again..? Only at the new coffee pub at the corner of Fifth and Sixth.? Anyway, I will see you at school. If you get this before school, maybe you could tell my your answer..? ;) I'll see you when I see you.."

I smile and place the note in my pocket. "Is he asking me out? Was yesterday a date? What!?" My breathing picks up and then I start to laugh. I'm probably just overthinking. "Why would he like someone like me anyway?" I look at the time from my phone. 8:45. "Shit!" I yell and I hop from branch to branch all the way down into the stream. "Fuck." I say as I take off my dripping, muddy shoes. "What is wrong with me? I've never said those words that close to each other before! Now look at me! Cussing like a sailor!" I throw my book bag over my shoulder and start to run towards school.

I'm running down the road when a pickup truck rolls up beside me. "Need a ride?" I stop running and look into the New Boy's eyes. "Uhhh.." I look at the time again and realize if I decline, I'll be even more late than what I already am. "Yeah." I say reluctantly. The truck groans as it stops and he pulls the door handle from the inside, to let me in. I climb up in the truck, crunching fast-food trash as I sit. "Sorry about the mess." He says with a smirk. "No you're not." I say. He laughs and starts driving. "I'm Blake." He says. I just nod. Nothing is said the rest of the drive there, we finally pull up to the school building at 9:13. I jump out of the truck without saying thank you and start to walk towards the doors. "Will I see you?" He calls from behind. "You'll see me, but we won't talk." I call back from over my shoulder. I push through the doors and turn toward the secretary. She looks up from her computer and frowns. Then she smiles and says, "Hello. Are you new here?" I sigh and decide whether or not to lie. I decide against it. "Uh.. No I'm just late. My car wouldn't start." She nods and hands me a late pass. I go to my locker and shove everything inside. "Ms. Becca. You're late." I turn around and see Marc walking towards me. I smile, reminiscing about my dream. "Indeed I am. I went for a little stroll to the meadow.." He looks down as I pull the note out from my pocket. "I'd love to." I say and he looks up quickly, as if in disbelief.
