Weeks...
Weeks we had been planning this trip...
Weeks of excitement...
And now, it's just hours away...
I can already feel the warm, summer breeze on my olive colored skin. My chestnut, brown hair trailing behind me as I ran through the open field.
I can already hear the trickle of the stream, and the laughter of my friends as they surround me.
I can already see the campfire, and my friends roasting marshmallows and telling scary stories. I can already see his eyes, his beautiful stormy, gray eyes...
"Val! It's time for dinner!" My mom's voice erupted from downstairs.
I stood up from my bed, releasing an irritated groan.
"I'm coming!" I yelled down to her.
"Sheesh, it's about time!" My mother's voice sang when I entered the kitchen.
I let out a grumble and took a seat at the counter.
"Awe someone's grumpy!" My mother's voice rang out.
"Well I don't like liver and onions," I whined.
"Uh uh! Your eighteen young lady! That means no more complaining about the food I make!" My mother said as she waved around her wooden spoon.
I laughed and grabbed my phone from my pocket. I unlocked it and began to browse social media.

We would be in the forest for at least a week so that we could get rid of the Summer blues.I walked into the bathroom to take a shower so that I was all fresh and clean for our trip.
I turned the nob and soon enough water was rushing out of the shower head.
I quickly stripped down to just my undergarments. As I was about to take of my bra I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My hair was in its usual straight back form.
I glanced at my cheeks, they were bigger than most. My tan skin was soft and smooth to the touch, even looking at it kind of made you smile.
I glanced at my eyebrows. I had only plucked them an hour prior so they were pretty neat. My lips were a 'perfect' pink color in my mom's opinion.
I locked eye contact with myself. My vibrant, light blue eyes. The blue eyes that people claimed they could see the ocean in. The blue eyes that people claimed they could see their own reflection in. The blue eyes that claimed they witnessed death. The blue eyes that claimed they saw the car speeding down, but didn't do anything. The blue eyes that claimed saw him fly across the street upon impact.
The blue eyes that claimed they will never be innocent again...
"Your wasting water! Get in the shower!" My mother's voice called out through the floor boards, snapping me from my trance.
I finished taking off my undergarments and hopped in the shower. The warm droplets swarmed my skin making me shiver. I turned and the water attacked my hair, a searing burning pain accompanying it. This wasn't normal...
I let out a shriek and jumped out of the shower, immediately grabbing a towel to cover my cold, bare body. I glanced around the bathroom and there stood my god forsaken brother. He's been a heathen the whole ten years of his life. He held a medium red bucket with a yellow handle in his hand. He had a mischievous grin on his face.
My mother raced into the bathroom, clearly out of breath,
"What happened!" She exclaimed, fear pounding its way through her body.
