It was late that same night and I hadn't seen Vic since the elevator incident. Thank God for small favors.

Once I was back in my hotel room, I immediately checked when the next flight to San Diego was. Sadly, the earliest one I could catch was the next morning. Typical. But I couldn't stay here, I just couldn't. Being here with him was already waking up parts of me that I would've preferred to have in a comatose state. Forever.

I was about to head into the bathroom to take a shower, when Jenna called.

"Why didn't you call when you arrived?!" Was the first thing she yelled through the phone line. Oh right, I was supposed to call her. Sorry mom. "Anyway, doesn't matter..." She then quickly rambled on, not giving me the chance to say anything at all. "How's the hotel? Good, right? Did you meet anyone yet? There should be a Superior King room next to yours. Is it vacated? Is there a hot guy in there? Oh my, there is, isn't there? That's why you didn't call. Tell me about him! Describe him!"

Jenna didn't even take a single breath during all of that. The energy in that girl was unbelievable. But Nick was kinda the same.

It was funny that she immediately assumed that I met someone, though. And oh well, I did, but it wasn't what she thought it would be. Not at all. "Sure, I'll describe him to you," I started, utterly faking my joy. "He's my age, about a month difference... dark brown eyes, brown curls, nose ring, crooked smile... about an inch or two shorter than me when I'm wearing heels. Oh and he's Mexican."

Jenna snorted. "That sounds like Vic," She gathered, then laughing a little.

"That's because it fucking is Vic," I growled softly, rubbing the bridge of my nose in annoyance. And then she stayed quiet. Which wasn't exactly surprising. "And actually I was totally convinced that you were behind it... but he assured me that no one knows that he's here."

"No one? Not even Danielle?" Jenna then questioned, confusion lacing her tone of voice.

Honestly, that was a surprise to me as well. "No one,"

"So you talked to him, then?"

I sighed deeply, remembering how I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. "Worse... I was stuck in the elevator with him," She gasped at that. "Which is also the reason why I'm going back home, first thing tomorrow."

"What? No!" Jenna was quick to yell, leaving me shocked for a moment. Why the fuck not? This was going to be hell for me if I stayed. Literal hell. "I mean, this is your chance to let him know you've moved on... that you're capable of living without him and having fun without him. I mean, you're not still in love with him, right?"

I scoffed at that. "Of course I'm not," Right?

See, now that was a problem. I was starting to hesitate again. God damnit, I really needed to get out of here, and fast. But on the other hand...

"Come on, you can do this," Jenna stressed, a whiny tone to her voice.

I sighed, plopping down on the fluffy hotel bed. I mean, what were the chances of getting stuck in an elevator with him, again? I could just stay and do my own thing, right? Because if Vic really was here to write, he probably wouldn't come out of his room much anyway.

"Alright, fine, I'll stay." I grumbled.

Jenna made some kind of strange victory noise after I said that. "That's the spirit!" She added, practically screaming into my ear. And I knew what was going to come next, so before she could start her little cheer, I told her goodbye and hung up. It was late, and I was tired.
