Klaus' POV:

I sat on the sofa, tapping my foot on the floor, as I waited for everyone to return home. I specifically told them to stay at home, while I went out for a drink to sort things with Marcel, but they went out anyway. Suddenly, I heard a car pull up outside, so I walked over to the door, folding my arms across my chest. They all came in; laughing and holding loads of bags. I stared at them, waiting for them to be quite, so that I could question them.

"What's wrong brother?" Rebekah asked. Everyone stopped talking and looked at me.

"I told you not to leave this house, so what do you do?" I said angrily. Elijah stepped forwards and smiled at me, as if he were trying to calm me down.

"We didn't go anywhere in New Orleans, we went to a shopping mall just outside of Mystic Falls." He explained. I sighed heavily, not knowing what to say. He had a point, but they still went against what I asked them to do. I looked at them all one last time and stormed off upstairs to find something better to do.

Mia's POV:

I started folding all my new clothes up and put them in draws. As I did so, I began to think about Elijah. I thought about how sweet he was. He was such a gentleman. He was kind, caring, funny, charming and also very good looking. I pictured his gorgeous, big, brown eyes in my head. His hot hair style. The sound of his sexy, low pitch voice.

"Hello Mia." I heard Rebekah say from the door way. I spun around and she sent me a confused look. "What are you smiling at?" She asked. I realized that I had been smiling the whole time I was thinking about Elijah. I didn't want her knowing that though, so I shrugged my shoulders.

"Just being polite." I lied. She chuckled and walked over to me.

"I'm so jealous of some of the clothes you brought today." She said, trying to start a conversation. I thought back to when we were in the shopping mall and I described that vampire we saw, as a 'man eating beast'. I sighed and looked over at Rebekah.

" I'm so sorry I described that vampire we saw earlier as a man eating beast. I didn't mean it..."

"Mia, it's fine. Trust me." Rebekah said, cutting me off. We both exchanged smiles, before she left mine and Elijah's room.

I started walking down the stairs, to see what everyone was doing, but I suddenly tripped on the last step. I let out a little screech as I fell. I was expecting to find myself face down on the floor with a bloody nose, but instead I found myself in someone's arms. I looked up and was face to face with Elijah. I let out a deep breath which I had been holding in as Elijah pulled me a little bit closer every second.

"Thanks." Was all I could get out. We were so close now, I could feel Elijah's breath on my lips. I wanted to lean forward an inch and kiss him, but Hayley walked into the hall way, so Elijah pulled away, helping me stand up straight. Hayley didn't say anything. She just looked at me, smirking, then when she walked past she winked at me. I giggled and met Elijah's eyes.

"Your welcome." He eventually replied and walked into the living room.

Elijah's POV:

As I walked into the living room, I complained to myself in my head.

Why did you do that? Why did you try and kiss her? I thought to myself. I sighed and sat down on the sofa, not really knowing what else to do. I was angry at myself for what had just happened.

"What's for dinner? I'm starving." Hayley said, interrupting my trail of thought. I thought for a moment.

"I don't know. I'll go see what we've got." I announced. I got up and made my way to the kitchen. I opened the door and went over to the cupboards. I quickly glanced out the window and saw a figure. It was so dark, I couldn't make out who it was. I wandered outside, to find Mia sitting by the pool, dipping her feet in. I smiled and walked over to her; sitting down, crossing my legs.

"Are you okay?" I asked. She sighed and looked up from the water, looking straight ahead of her.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You?" She replied, looking back down at the water, kicking her feet around a bit.

"I'm good thank you." I answered. She hadn't looked at me once since I got out there with her. I knew it had something to do with me nearly kissing her. I sighed and looked down at the water. "Are you hungry?" I asked, as it was the only thing I could think of. She looked at me this time and smiled.

"I'm always hungry." She said cheekily. I laughed and stood up, offering her my hand. She gladly took my hand and I pulled her up. I couldn't help myself, I had to do it. I leaned forward and pushed her into the swimming pool. I burst into a fit of laughter and quickly ran inside at vampire speed to grab her a towel. Luckily, she was still in her old, ripped clothes, so I hadn't ruined any of of new ones. She rose to the surface and glared at me, but ended up joining me during my laughing fit. She pulled herself out and walked up to me, snatching the towel out my hand. Tears were threatening to spill down my face from how much I was laughing. She threw the wet towel in my face and stomped back inside.

Finally, I calmed down and came back inside, making some dinner.

"So, have you had a good day?" I asked Mia, as I laid in bed, watching her comb her hair in the mirror. She turned around to face me.

"Well, the shopping was good, but being pushed into a swimming pool at around seven o'clock wasn't." She yelled at me. I laughed and sat up.

"Well at least you've had a shower and got the chlorine out of your hair." I replied. She looked at me with her 'What the hell' face, which made me laugh even more.

Once she had dried her hair, she climbed into bed, facing away from me.

"Goodnight sweetie." I said, teasing her.

"Night meanie" She quickly replied, making me chuckle. I closed my eyes and couldn't stop thinking about what happened today on the stairs. I shook that thought away and eventually drifted off to sleep.
