Many moons had passed since Rainstar's choice of making Pineheart deputy. She started to.. regret it. She was sure with most of the choices she made. Why be so unsure now? She saw Pineheart whispering with Frostbreeze, Foxblaze, and Rosespeck as if they were planning something. Rainstar stayed near her kits at all times and watched as they slowly became apprentices and then warriors, Wolffang, Spottedpool, and Cinderblaze. She had another kit whom she named after herself.
Then came that horrible day, she hoped it would never happen, but it did. "Last one around the forest and back is fox-dung!" Foxblaze said.
"Rainstar, want to join our race?" Pineheart said innocently.
"I guess I can stretch my legs." She replied. They started the race and She noticed that the others were being slowpokes. I can beat them any day if they keep up this slow pace! she thought as she sped up. Soon, the others were out of her sight. She went all the way around and when she got back, surprisingly all the cats were back.
"What are you doing in FireClan territory?!" Rosespeck spat at her.
"I'm your leader!" she meowed very surprised at this. "Don't speak to your leader that way!"
"What are you talking about? Pinestar is our leader, now get out"
Surprised and furious, she said, "What about Rainkit, Wolffang, Cinderblaze, and Spottedpool?!"
"They are going with you, unless they want to stay." Rosespeck pointed at Rainkit. "Also, one of Hollyleaf's kits wants to go with you as well." she said pointing to Leopardfoot. "One more thing.. These two cats came here claiming they are your mom and brother."
Love surged through Rainstar as she saw her brother, Shark, and her mother, Dove walking toward her. Rainstar left the Clan and missed Rainkit every day.
The rest of her life was lived in exile with the young adults her kits were but she died peacefully, joining StarClan even though she hadn't believed them before. She finally saw Raven, Hollyleaf, and Cloverleaf again.
