chapter 39

"oh yes are you guys locking her up? cos believe me i never want to see her again!" i say laughing to myself, which is something i do often.

"no actually we are ringing to inform you that we have decided not to put your mother in jail, she has been through countless interviews and tests and she's fine and she truly is sorry for what she did. she loves yourself and anna very much and i know she is extremely sorry for everything she's done."

THEY WHAT? MY MOTHER FOOLED THE POLICE????? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING ME RIGHT NOW??? how can this be happening.

"w-what do you mean? i don't love her definitely not after what she did. i'm sorry officer but there's no way i'm going to live with her ever again." i say, absolutely furious with what's going on. i can't believe what i'm hearing my mum doesn't love us, she almost killed us both over the littlest thing.

"elisha, i understand you are still affected by what has happened and that's fine but your mother has changed. we have arranged for you to meet her tomorrow morning, you can decide what goes on from there. please listen carefully to what she says and take it all into consideration. we will message you more details, have a good night."

i'm honestly so shocked. there is no way in hell i'm going tomorrow, i'm happy with my life with jakob and i'm not making the same mistake i did when i left melbourne.

i sit back down next to mikaila at the merch stand and enjoy the rest of the show. the boys looked like naturals up there, they're so bloody adorable.

"lishy you have to go see your mum it's the right thing to do. you'll still have a choice whether or not you want to live with her and i'll come with you to make things less awkward alright?" jakob says to me in the car ride back to his house.

i just look up at him and shrug my shoulders. i guess i could go if jakob's there with me, what's the worst that could happen?

jakob kisses the top of my head and i stay wrapped around his body for the rest of the car ride home.

tomorrow is going to be interesting.

"right this way, miss dow and mr delgado." a police officer says as he guides us towards the room where i'm meeting with my mother.

i just want this to be quick and straight to the point, i already know how it's going to end i don't see the point in even bothering to talk to her again.

we eventually arrive at a small meeting room, after passing what seemed like hundreds of doors and hallways. obviously it wasn't that many but you know, elisha always over exaggerates exercise in some type of way.

i grab onto jakob's hand and he gives me a nod and a small smile, we walk into the room and see my devil of a mum sitting there sobbing.

"oh elisha come here. words can't even describe how much i've missed you." my mum says still sobbing.

i don't say anything. i'm not exactly sure if she is being serious or not. god only knows to be honest.

"elisha. i have some explaining to do, so if you could hear me out for just 5 minutes i would really appreciate that."

"make it 3 and we have a deal."

"whatever makes you happy munchkin." i roll my eyes at that pet name, she hasn't called me by that since i was 7.

the police must be pretty damn gullible to believe this act she's pulling.

throughout everything my mum says, she every now and then has to pause to stop herself from crying. i can tell by what she's said that she is being genuine. maybe i was a little harsh on her..

"i've made my decision." i say, standing up for effect.

"mum i'd love to have you back. on the condition that at anytime you let me see jakob. i get that you have a problem with him but whatever it is we need to fix now, cos i love him mum. i love him so fricken much, more than words can describe." jakob looks at me with the biggest, sexiest smile i've ever seen. yes sexiest.

"god damnit i'm so inlove with you elisha." he says coming up and hugging me. my mum looks at us and smiles happily. i have no idea what being in jail for 48 hours has done to her but she's changed. she definitely has. my perspective on her has changed also, i know that jakob is always there if anything serious does happen again.

"come on elisha lets get home then." my mum says grabbing my side and pulling me in for a hug.

she then does something i never thought i'd see her do in my existence, she grabs jakob as well and kisses his cheek.

"you're family now jakob, family is always welcome."
